If I'm around Phoenix, I'd be at Form Fest. Hundred Waters.
Yeah, I applied and got accepted to Form this year. I was so fucking excited. Arcosanti has a special place in my heart. Paolo Solari was genius. Then I figured out that it's the week before hangout and we will be in North Carolina for my wife's little sister's Graduation at UNC. Wah Wah... Hundred Waters Curates Form every year I think, and it's always pretty awesome. But that's kind of what I'm saying. There are amazing little gems to be found in AZ and I'm certainly not trying to take anything away from much more intimate experiences like Form or MMMF, if fact I typically prefer a smaller more connected type of atmosphere, but I do like the idea of a major festival being here who can pull some bigger names.
Looks like GV and Hangout have picked up on the super duper VIPer packages. They call them headliner packages. Island Winds two beds, one parking pass, 2 tickets, $4600 for 5/19 to 5/22. Then the super VIP at $5600. Then Surf Stage Headliner for $4400 at All Suites 5/18 to 5/22. Finally, Surf Stage super Headliner VIP for $5400.
Dang. Nope. But, "pleeeze daddy" can be heard across America tonight!

Yes krisplettuce but, I turned down the same GA offer for 7 nights at $2560. If you got the money and only three nights, not a terrible deal. Just dropping $5,000 plus merchandise, travel, etc., for this lineup...Whoa.

I would gladly pay that if my group was smaller and could walk right downstairs and into the Surf Stage VIP area. Skipping that line would be clutch!
Being close has its benefits for sure. I loved being at a Island Winds East for six years. If I enjoyed the music/performers that are playing and had someone to split the cost, I would consider it. If I was confident in the next year being as good as the first five Hangouts, I would book 7 to 10 days and purchase alumni tickets which is over a thousand dollars saved and longer stay. As it is, I'll make a last minute decision to attend. I definitely plan to be in the area and catch you-all sometime during the three days.

This is starting to look like last year-with no major additions. Seems like they would have to add some based on the reduced number of artists. Only 8 weeks away though. Seems like they would have announced something by now.
