I would really consider trying to do a last minute hangout fest run it this happened. If I couldn't make it happen, I'd be extremely jealous.
I think you quoted the wrong one but regardless, it would be pretty damn cool, especially if they opened for migos on the boom boom tent
I just can't see it. Especially for the preparty. If he does do it, it would literally be just got shiz and grins. I also think theyd be closing over migos.

I'm going in blind this year as far as the undercard goes. I usually check everybody out I don't know and make a list of who I want to check out, but I decided to just wing it this year based on having you guys to fall back on. Your job, if you choose to accept it, (mission impossible fans) is to let me know who is a 'must not miss'.
it totally is open you guys. im accessing it from my work computer now. you click the link then itll take you to a mage that says you cant edit it but there a link below to view it... not sure the issue?

Has anyone here been to sloss fest in recent years? I'm thinking of stopping because it's so cheap and I can hit that Saturday and Sunday and be in Duluth GA for the Kendrick/Travis Scott concert on Monday.
Kungs - Valentin Brunel (born 17 December 1996), better known by his stage name Kungs, is a French DJ, record producer and musician. He released his first album Layers in 2016 after success with "This Girl", a collaboration with Cookin' on 3 Burners that became an international hit for him, and the follow-ups "Don't You Know" featuring Jamie N Commons and "I Feel So Bad" featuring Ephemerals. Brunel's stage name 'Kungs' means 'Mister (Mr.)' in Latvian.[1] He began playing music when he was five, playing a djembe that was a gift from his parents. He grew up listening to rock and roll classics with his father, including The Who and The Kooks. He began writing and posting online his own compositions when he was seventeen. His remixes of "Jamming" by Bob Marley and the Wailers and "West Coast" by Lana Del Rey featuring new vocals from Molly both reached several million plays on SoundCloud and YouTube. Kungs's remix of Lost Frequencies' "Are You with Me" achieved more than 16 million views on YouTube. In January 2016, he was the opener of some performances in Europe on David Guetta's Listen Tour. New Respects - There is something refreshingly different about the Nashville four known as The New Respects. While few musical narratives are the same, theirs is a story of resounding luck or providential favor – depending on how you choose to see such things. The young act has seemingly come from nowhere to become the darlings of the industry with their genre busting soul infused rock vibes. Fresh off coverage from outlets like NPR and Rolling Stone – who recently named them “10 New Artists You Need to Know” – we got the opportunity to sit down with the band before their show at the historic Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland in support of Robert Randolph & The Family Band. We were assured that their meteoric rise is no accident. www.eartothegroundmusic.co/2017/03/18/artist-interview-the-new-respects-we-catch-up-with-the-new-soul-darlings-of-destiny/

Gone to both. Had a lot of fun but would recommend going with a ticket that gives you access to the AC tents due to the heat. Only three stages and the two larger ones in the field don't overlap, the one inside the old building where they use to cast the iron has the third stage. I'll be back again this year.

Agree I went the first year had a great time and really great setup but will recommend doing iron passes for ac tents with that heat for sure! And price is still cheap. Thinking about going back this year do to being cheaper as well since I really wanna catch Nathaniel Rateliff and check run the jewels again and my friends are pumped to see wsp again.
Never been to sloss fest but the lineup looks good. Fairly close to home. I saw Nathaniel at Roo last year and just watched several hours of WSP. after committing to Hangout, Sturgill, Roo, Doobies, and Pilgramage, my festival and concert card is pretty much punched for this summer.
I couldn't find very much on The New Respects. They sound good for a band with two singles out. Where did the Muddy Magnolias play? Do they put these new acts on BMI or are the spread around? Anyone know who the "Jamel" or local winner is? Susto?
Now that I am staying at the beach, my outlook has improved a lot. So, where on the East Side are we going for breakfast? Is that your place jdstultz? The lady at IWE who brought down the spiked watermelon two years ago was awesome. Gotta start planning our IWW throwdown. My guitar and singing skills aren't getting a lot better so I'll bring the bose. I'm anticpating krisplettuce to be the party master for a night or two.
When mattlikesrock posted that link to the 2017 festical comparisons, I was surprised by the crossovers. If you added in all the festivals including country and other genres, there are a lot of festivals going on. The Chattanooga Riverbend has had some really good performers and crossovers from Roo and Hangout a time or two. I don't think you can have too much music or festivals. As people (money and politics) start figuring out the ROI on these festivals, you betcha they are going to continue to grow. Nashville pulls in millions from CMA fest, Bonnaroo, and other concerts and mini-festivals.

Bob actually still trying to decide between sloss and pilgrimage which I really wanna make but also been planning on life is Beautiful for a Vegas trip so depends on how that lineup fully looks today.
I am just too close to Nashville, cousins in Franklin, and the lineup was near perfect for me. Outdoor festivals are a little bit of a crapshoot with the weather. Hangout has been lucky plus having a condo, beach, and other stuff to do makes it weather friendly. On the other hand, being stuck out in a pasture in a thunderstorm is not fun. Bonnaroo was a freaking cluster last year when a storm came up on Thursday night. I enjoyed my trips to Vegas and a festival inside those casinos would be pretty fun. Some of the performers that camp out in Vegas at the Hard Rock are legends.
Less than a month away for you guys... I'm already getting fomo...
Pretty much, I can realistically only do one this year. But every day I consider taking the loss on my Bonnaroo shiz and trying to book a condo in GS. I love Hangout, I just really wish the festival went late.

Same here. I thought that with them allowing it to go until midnight on Friday of last year due to the weather delay they may see that it went well and shift everything an hour ahead. Guess not. It would be nice to catch some of the earlier acts when it's not so hot and get more sets after sunset.
Just when I got that girl out of my mind, Krisp with the save.
Side note, if you took this video we practically brushed shoulders. I was on the rail just to Wayne Coins left during this set. I can remember getting close for Matt and Kim and being so shocked that this stage cleared out enough for me and my crew to get on the rail during the intermission.

It really would make Hangout even better. Spending the morning/early afternoon with a few brews on the beach and then marathon through a days worth of music.
That rain delay on Friday last year gave me and my crew the pre-game time we needed to thoroughly enjoy the day. That with the truncated schedule, made it one of my favorite Hangout days of all time.

i agree bring back late nights even if it an additional cost i'd throw down the scratch for a night or two. still blows my mind there isnt a venue thats come into the area down there that will host after show. we had one last year at "live bait" but it was all edm im sure folks would but tickets to a late set by band of horses or young the giant. also would give folks some flex in schedule if they chose to hit a late show act and skip them in the fest..
11 pm is alright but 12-12:30 would be perfect even if its just the smaller stages similar to the preparty. close off the beach aftr 11.

Welp, doing this fest again. Haven't been since 2015, are the liquor vendors at this fest still annoying to find or am I gonna have to drink bud light and mangoritas all day again?
I would do the sunscreen liquor thing (probably a bit smarter this time and actually make it look like sunscreen instead of grape juice...) but they I guess limit you to 3.5 oz sunscreen containers, so that doesn't really seem worth it.
