Welp, doing this fest again. Haven't been since 2015, are the liquor vendors at this fest still annoying to find or am I gonna have to drink bud light and mangoritas all day again?
I would do the sunscreen liquor thing (probably a bit smarter this time and actually make it look like sunscreen instead of grape juice...) but they I guess limit you to 3.5 oz sunscreen containers, so that doesn't really seem worth it.
They were checking suncreen bottles last year. I don't remember finding much liquor in the festival. And the security (as always) were pretty dickish. Best bet is to sneak as much as you can in inside your belly and drink stella the rest of the day.
I go to the restaurant for liquor, or the condo. I think they released a FB post on some new food and beverage tents. One is supposed to be air conditioned.

Thy just posted on yesterday on instagram that in addition to the BIG TAP beer garden there will be a BarCade this year with a aircondition full service bar with vintage arcade games
Also any Red Bull tent you see is serving vodka. I usually hit up the one near boom boom tent.
I stock up at the liquor store in Pensacola which is waaay cheaper than LA (lower abalama). Shoot a half dozen shots, walk down to the gate with empty camelback, fill it and dilute for a couple hours. I found a couple carts around HR (Hangout Restaurant) sell Miller and other brands.

Oh yeah, they were checking when I went in 2015 and I got caught. Dude was like "you didn't think you were getting in here with this did you?" I was like, uh yes, yes I did think I was. They just take it away and you walk in, no biggie. Looking forward to getting to second base via the security check again though! /s

Yeah I ended up doing that a few times. Just wasn't convenient to the stages enough in the end though.

Hm, interesting. Well, sugar free red bull + vodka is nasty but it's better than those blasted disgusting mangoritas.

Yeah I'm coming from ATL. I'm gonna basically just grab a few handles of vodka before my friend picks me up for the drive down.
From the comments on FB posts, it sounds like there are many out there. I'm planning on doing some RECON in the Hangout vicinity. I'd like to sell shuttle pass. Now with condo (bar, gourmet food, even better non-gourmet food, pool, etc) within staggering distance, probably stay GA.

This is my go to. I'm already feeling myself when I walk in the gates but the good ole overpriced RBV sends me into a Boom Boom dancing frenzy

Another Jamaican artist. He had a pretty big album in 2014 and has since done some work with drake and does the vocals for one of the latest Gorillaz tracks. I honestly think Popcaan without visa issues would blow up in North America, and prefer him over pretty much everyone else in Jamaica (except Vybz Kartel, but that's never happening).

Never been to sloss fest but the lineup looks good. Fairly close to home. I saw Nathaniel at Roo last year and just watched several hours of WSP. after committing to Hangout, Sturgill, Roo, Doobies, and Pilgramage, my festival and concert card is pretty much punched for this summer.
I couldn't find very much on The New Respects. They sound good for a band with two singles out. Where did the Muddy Magnolias play? Do they put these new acts on BMI or are the spread around? Anyone know who the "Jamel" or local winner is? Susto?
Now that I am staying at the beach, my outlook has improved a lot. So, where on the East Side are we going for breakfast? Is that your place jdstultz ? The lady at IWE who brought down the spiked watermelon two years ago was awesome. Gotta start planning our IWW throwdown. My guitar and singing skills aren't getting a lot better so I'll bring the bose. I'm anticpating krisplettuce to be the party master for a night or two.
We make breakfast for anybody that shows up, every day. Just let me know when you're coming, and I'll make provisions. It'll be a blast. Strictly comfort food, but nobody goes hungry. Mix up a batch of bloody marys and join the mayhem! (I'm not opposed to that spiked melon idea, either).

Troof. Even beer is a lot more expensive. I load the trunk with as much as it will hold, and carry it down. We always run out, but at least we get a head start. The Hangout bar is the best selection for liquor inside, although, as others have mentioned, there are other options. I don't mind Bud Light, so the lack of beer choices doesn't bother me, although I can see some folks being frustrated by it. I've gotta say, good people, that it's great to see this year rounding into shape. I've had a pretty stressful year, and I'm really looking forward to some R&R. Will be awesome to see everybody.
Solidrock and I at the second stage at Sweetwater 420 Fest this weekend. For some reason, felt this went better on this thread I did say at one point that I wished I was doing Hangout.

Life is Beautiful dropped a nice lineup. But my only question is Shaggy or Sean Paul? not sure which one is more random here lol
That's a pretty cool lineup. Riot was great too. I liked elements of North Coast today. Obviously Outside Lands and FYF. Maybe the rest of the fall and winter shit will pick up too.

Cheat Codes - Cheat Codes is an American electronic music DJ trio from Los Angeles, California. The group is notable for their 2016 single "Sex", which samples the chorus from "Let's Talk About Sex" by Salt-N-Pepa. On March 31, 2017 the trio released their most recent single "No Promises" featuring Demi Lovato. Cheat Codes consists of original members Trevor Dahl, Kevin Ford, and Matthew Russell. Dahl previously recorded music under the name Plug In Stereo. Prior to the 2014 formation of the trio, Trevor and Matt lived together and later wrote and recorded music with Kevin. Their name was inspired by Ford's brother who told him that he had found the "cheat code" to getting anything he wanted in life. "We really embody the idea that anything is possible. To us the real 'cheat code' to life is loving what you do and we hope to convey that energy through our music," they said in an interview. In 2015, they released a debut single titled "Visions", which reached number 1 on the Hype Machine chart. It was followed by the singles "Don't Say No", "Senses", and "Adventure". "Adventure" reached number 3 on the Hype Machine chart. The group gained over 15 million views on YouTube and later toured with The Chainsmokers.

Good eye Nerdluck! I strolled in with the roadie that day.
