Fingers crossed that Chris Stapleton is the only country booking towards the top of the lineup.
I've seen Kenny Cheney and Jimmy Buffett and enjoyed the heck out of those shows but, rather see alternative, rock, pop, beach stuff that is fun and upbeat on Hangout stages. ZBB was fun but, twice is once too much.
Nah he's not a headliner but I think he'd either be the top sub or a surf closer.
That wouldn't be so bad then I would actually go see him.
Saw Stapleton open for GnR in Nashville and he was awesome. Would def check him out on the beach. But I agree, wouldn't be into any other country-ish acts except Sturgill Simpson.
And, the only other act I would be into from the Tortuga lineup would be G Love. He's always fun.
Weeknd will def be at Roo. He's honestly fine for that pop mainstream spot on a lineup but as I've said before, he's a rough #1 and when paired with Calvin, just looks so much worse.
And the clock ticks on. How many think it will be better? worse? for 2017.
Honestly hoping a better lineup. I had a blast but was for sure weaker this past lineup then most I think. But to be honest hangout every year has been pretty random I feel like. Really hoping for atleast 2/3 headliners being strong and a really good undercard but who knows.

There's no way Calvin Harris doesn't headline this year after having to cancel due to injury last year right? Waste of a headliner spot for me personally but I doubt he doesn't play this year.
Been the last two years and the uniqueness of the festival is what brings me back more than the lineup. They are always pretty solid with the early-day bookings as far as most fests go.
Headliners guess: Kings of Leon -- Calvin Harris -- Frank Ocean

I really hope that since he did cancel that they don't bring him back he's a huge waste of a Headliner spot....but does sell tix so you're probably right.

So what's everyone's top 10 hopes semi realistic. It can be headliners, undercard, and even repeats lol. 1. Gorillaz-(my semi part) 2. Pearl Jam 3. Green Day 4. Danny Brown 5. The Lumineers 6. Of Monsters and Men 7. Kid Cudi 8. Nathaniel Rateliff and the Nightsweats 9. Local Natives 10. Blink 182-(for that paramore and panic at the disco slot)

In no particular order and not necessarily my top acts but some acts I would enjoy on the undercard that are not too far out there for this fest:
Earth, Wind & Fire Pigeons Playing Ping Pong (I know I've seen them like ten times this year already but their Pool Party by the Wave pool at Peach Fest would be 1000 times amazing on the beach) At the Drive In White Denim Lettuce Dispatch The National Con Brio Kamasi Washington Royal Blood

I take it I need to check out pigeons playing ping pong lol
A few others on this thread had them in their top 10 sets of the year which is cool because they mostly play jam fests. Jammy electro funk. Crazy good live shows.

Nice I'll check them I know my taste is usually more mainstream alternative and hip hop but always love these threads to broaden my music taste and learn other artist I don't know about.
1) definitely Earth, Wind, and Fire or any 70s disco band that can put on a decent performance. 2) Sturgill Simpson 3) Nathaniel Ratliffe and the night Sweats 4) TTB 5) Sunday classic rock closer ( Doobies, Buckingham-Knicks, Sheryl Crow, Kansas, Santana, AC/DC, Mellencamp, Heart, etc) 6) Jameel Richardson 7) Several good NOLA/Austin blues bands. 8) Judah and the Lion (I missed them in 2016) 9) Delta Rae 10) Someone new in the Americana genre.
I could live with the alt-hip-ind-elect with some of this list.
I'd take these as headliners...would be an improvement over last year.
Others I would like to see on the card...just a wishlist without real thoughts about possibilities...
Big Gigantic Interpol Weezer Violent Femmes Temple of the Dog Girl Talk Marshmello Avett Bros Sturgill Simpson Shovels and Rope Cheap Trick National Jimmy Eat World Green Day Tedeschi Trucks Band The Arcs Kacey Musgraves E40 Blood Orange Sufjan Stephens
No way we'd get all 10 of those but to get 3-4 would feel realistic to me.
Chance would be cool. Bloc Party is always great live...good call on that. And Local Natives definitely. I doubt Umph would come back since there were just there in '15.
I think there's a chance since they played the preparty in '13 and then came back in '15. Plus they were never able to get that late night set they were originally going to do so I feel like they'll be back sooner rather than later. If you wanna throw STS9 in that slot, that's cool too.
