A while back I decided to make a musical time line of my life. Music has, for better or worse, been a large part of my life from the get-go, and I tried to track down all the songs that meant something to me along the way.
These songs are tied to particular moments or feelings, or just what I've been listening to, starting with my parents' first dance and continuing on through the present day.

Not sure this will work because I am trying to do it from my phone, but this is the playlist my husband and I made for general listening. It spans both of our tastes, so there's stuff on there that I love but he hates, and stuff that he loves but I hate, and everything in between. It should only ever be listened to on shuffle.
A few months back I had decided that since I listen to so much music I should really try to listen to the "greats" of each instrument (drums, bass, guitar, male/female vocals). The first one I did was the drummers, which is below. I did take some liberty with who I put on the list - it's generally a combination of lists I found online, but I added/subtracted to my preferences, especially since a lot of the lists don't include newer artists.

"There All is Aching" made me realize just how much I miss that show. Andy Daly is quite possibly the funniest man alive

Yes!! They are supposed to be doing one last three-episode season to wrap it up, but I haven't heard anything else about it in a while.

It happened, and it was incredible
Also, how does one go about embedding a Spotify playlist? I'm curating songs for a dance and would love feedback and recs
Yay! I know what I'll be watching tonight.
I can't really remember how I posted the playlist before. I think it has something to do with the "share" option on Spotify, but I tried just doing it like I would a link to a webpage and that didn't work, but it may also have just timed out because my service is not great in this building.
Last year a made a starter playlist for Drive By Truckers for a friend of mine. It is split into thirds by songwriter and only covers the "golden era" from 2002-2004.

I made a playlist of my 100 favorite songs, ranked. It was hard.
I've been listening through this, and it's a great mix of stuff I know and like and things I hadn't heard before, but also like. So good job
Are these ranked in order also?? That would've taken forever, jeez
Yes, it's in order. It didn't take quite as long as you think. I ranked the top 20 for a thing I did for my birthday earlier this year, so I only had to hash out the other 80.
The initial list was about 110 songs, so I had to pare it down a little. I have a larger list of about 500, but I'm probably not going to take the time and rank that one.
So yes, "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" is my favorite song.

Cleaning out a filing cabinet in my house I found an old booklet of cds. One of them was labeled "New Car Mix." I made it when I was 17 and got a new (to me) car. I don't know why I chose some of these songs, but here it is, unedited.

I started this with my wife last year, and added a few more today. Halloween-ish type songs (songs with titles and lyrics deemed evil, or sound scary i.e. have a theramin)
