The Vortex is fine, but i would never have an out of towner make an effort for it...or Fellinis.
I didn't want to be the one to say it but agreed.
Ha, I almost deleted my post because I didn't want to be the one either!...no point in needless negativity, but we gotta rep the city properly to the roosters. Any rec's really come down to whatever neighborhood you're in or closest to.

Haha! Yea I try not to completely dominate recommendations in this thread but... I mean, I just love Atlanta so damn much it's hard not to.
Location is definitely key though. Hard to tell a visitor they should trek out to Quoc Hong for the best banh mi if they're 10 minutes from EAV.
And to be fair to Fellini's and The Vortex they are both open very late which could be advantageous during Shaky Knees. If you've got your druthers about you there are better options though.
Realistically Wavves could easily do it and they'd probably be billed about the same as Modern Baseball on the lineup. Their last show they've announced is May 9 in NOLA so it makes sense.

I'll still vote for the Wilco repeat...Wilco, MMJ and Pixies being quintessential Shaky imo.
I will always associate finally being able to see Ride and At The Drive-In hahaha.
No one in my group, including me, had ever heard of Ride. That was a cool show. I had one of my buddies convinced it was radiohead for about a song and a half.

Wavves is announcing another tour this week, realistically for the fall, but hey, could add another date for spring with that announcement
fuckkkkk, this pisses me off because I had to book my air bnb already so I need to get another/edit the already existing stay (if I can talk my lady into it.)

oh for fucks sake. I was literally about to buy a lawn ticket for KOL at Lakewood on the 11th. ugh. seeing Fidlar and Twin Peaks together is tempting, and would free up my slammed Friday. but I'm greedy and would wanna see Fidlar twice. the struggle continues. choices :\

Is this going to be Phoenix's first concert back? Strangely enough, Shaky isn't on here... wearephoenix.com/tickets/
And I'm also guessing that this will be LCD's first concert of the year, and I wonder if they're going to have a different setlist than they had last year.
Either way, I'm getting a little worried that neither will drop their new albums before this festival.

I don't want to see FIDLAR at all, but I understand that struggle. I can never get with the "go see band X to lessen the conflicts at festival Y" mentality. Seeing a band or artist before or after the festival doesn't help with conflicts.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Question - this will be my first year attending Shaky Knees and I was wondering how long of a wait/line is it to get inside the festival grounds? I got a hotel right across the street from the entrance and was wondering the feasibility of being able to leave and re-enter the fest grounds if I went back to my hotel for a bathroom or fuel up break. On the Shaky Knees website it says we are allowed 3 in and outs a day.

I've never waited to get in. But I also never leave and come back. One of the nicer features of the fest is they go crazy overboard with the portos so if you don't have any issue with using one I say tough it out.

In my experience, it has not been that bad. There's been a line at times but it's better than what you find getting into Centeroo for example.

I don't remember being in a bad porto at SK. Definitely not like the horror stories at roo.

I've went in and out the two years it was in an interesting place and both times I've had no issue getting in.
