I've never waited to get in. But I also never leave and come back. One of the nicer features of the fest is they go crazy overboard with the portos so if you don't have any issue with using one I say tough it out.
Oh for pete sakes the man wants to get drunk on the cheap
Yeah, getting drunk on the cheap typically increases my number of ins and outs... Seriously, anybody think they will actually be tracking and refusing entry to someone on the 4th attempt? I mean, 3 is a lot/enough I guess, but I'm staying at the Omni and would like to keep my options open. Guess the cheap CNN Center food court big beers could have something to do with the rule?

I am not sure, but i think that when you scan your bracelet it keeps track of your in/out times. That is just an assumption. I have no facts to back that up.

Wavves on Wednesday, Twin Peaks and Fidlar on Thursday, and the stacked Shaky Friday lineup. thank God for those lax Saturday and Sunday schedules, I will be a barely functioning corpse

I assume the system they use for it is the same as all the other festivals, so yeah it probably does track the amount of times you enter/leave. Some festivals don't allow you to leave/reenter more than one time (I cannot for the life of me remember who was doing that last year) but Shaky Knees historically has not had a limit on the amount of times you can leave/reenter and unless they change their policy, I wouldn't worry.
Going by the day by day last year do we think it's gonna be LCD against Cage, The XX against Nick Murphy, and Phoenix against The Shins. Cause the only one that bothers me is Phoenix and The Shins, that would make me cry. Any chance it's different cause of their only being 3 stages instead of 4?

They've already said no opposing headliners this year. LCD, the XX, and Phoenix will be unopposed.

My brother and I are looking for places to stay for Fri and Sat night. Is the Ramada Plaza Capitol Park ok? Looks like its 3 miles away from the park. $57 a night. I'm sure its a fairly shitty hotel, but I don't care as long as I'm alive by the end of this thing.

The neighborhood is fine... mainly because it's all parking lots for Turner Field. There's basically nothing immediately near by. It's a half mile(ish) walk to the GA State Marta station though so that would actually be a pretty solid choice for lodging. Head into Grant Park to the east for good brunch and stuff.

I say go for it.
Sweet. I get free ubers through work so being a bit out of the way isn't a big deal.

So given that the headliners will be playing unopposed I'm assuming I'll only get to see 2 of Portugal the Man, Cage the Elephant and The Pixies. Which two would y'all pick? I'm torn here.

All three bands play all the time, so it's not like you're missing your only chance to see any of the three. Cage The Elephant doesn't put on a bad show. I don't know if the whole album sounds like Cold Cold Cold, but you could also easily replace Temples or Twin Peaks for Cage and still fill your band that sounds like 1970 quota for the day. On the other hand, some are always going to diminish The Pixies without Kim Deal.

We saw PTM back in November, and they were better than any other time I have seen them. They're at Roo, too ... but you should try to work them into your schedule on this swing at some point.

Every time I see PTM it's better than the time before.

I saw them at Okeechobee and they were actually really good. I'd see them again depending on conflicts but yeah not exactly what I was looking for as a replacement either seeing as they're playing almost every major fest this year. On another note I've never seen Slowdive, are they worth going to their preshow?

Not exactly an equal replacement for Mobo, but I could not be more ecstatic about RKS. Look past their name and check them out if you are blessed enough to have time on your Friday. The double edged sword of a good addition and one more band to see
