What are your guy's views of it? I think for a platform that is supposed to make it easier for the listener to get new music this is extremely counter productive. I'm not going to start streaming music for a certain album so usually that just means I pirate it (sorry Kanye). I hate that I have to wait (usually) up to two weeks to here new music.

I hate it, but it's a great marketing strategy. I actually switched from Spotify to Tidal because of the Kanye album, I prefer their interface and the exclusives are a bonus. I would never have even tried it otherwise!
It's a pain in the ass, but for me it's a rare pain in the ass. As someone (as many others on this board are) who listens to so many albums that 95% of the population doesn't give a shit about with almost absurd ease, I'm more than willing to wait awhile to hear huge albums like Frank's, Chance's, etc.
edit. I forgot to add that from the perspective of someone trying to additionally benefit financially from putting time and effort into an album and then paying the features, production team, etc, I totally get it. It really couldn't make more sense.
I hate it because it increases the odds I download an album illegally (TLOP and tool comes to mind). The reason I pay $10 a month for Spotify is because it's easier to use Spotify than to torrent stuff (same for Netflix). I understand artists don't get much money from streaming but in my mind it makes more to at least get a little from streaming than to lose that money to illegal downloads. Although I'm sure the artists in streaming exclusives get paid enough to justify that. It just sucks for me personally.
Universal has a bunch of labels under its UMG distribution blanket. They are trying to keep those artists from partnering up with streaming services in the name of the "fans".
It sounds like they are more pissed about Frank giving them Endless to fulfill his contract obligations, quit Def Jam, and release the newer, more marketable album himself, imo.
I hate streaming exclusives. I'm with Dan808. It just promotes illegal downloading.
