Kendrick Lamar • Arcade Fire • The xx • Calvin Harris or Odesza Lana Del Rey or Lorde • Bassnectar or Pretty Lights or The Doobie Brothers • Run the Jewels Animal Collective • Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats • Thievery Corporation
This is way way way too good. No way we get Doobie Brothers and Run the Jewels.
I would shit a brick. Like a Bono level brick.
This would be a great Christmas lineup present if you can squeeze Galantis in there for krisplettuce and The Shins for sparkysarah. chickinchickasaw covered with Nathaniel Ratliff. I'm good with Arcade Fire, The XX, Lorde, Doobie Brothers, Nathaniel Ratliff, and usual 20-30 down the lineup acts like Sonny Landreth, Margo Price, Justin's Townes Earle, Greensky Bluegrass, The Woods Brothers, and other blues, folk, singer/songwriters, bluegrass, jazz, "legacy" aka Earth Wind and Fire or Cheap Trick.
The XX had me moving the entire set. Their voices live are incredible too, they sound fantastic. They do have some slower stuff but when u see them live, Jamie's beats stand out way more. They were my second biggest surprise of Roo (Mondo Cozmo was #1). I casually enjoyed them before but they became can't miss for me at festivals moving forward.

mondo was great! i was excited to catch him at HO and he did not disappoint rdy for round 2 at ACL
Bands I saw at Roo who I would enjoy seeing again at Hangout; The XX, July Talk, Margo Price, Lucas Nelson and the promise of the real, Creature Comforts, Greensky Bluegrass, Royal Blood, Hippo Campus, Welles, The Orwells, Kaleo, and Michael Kiwanuka. I did not see but, wish I had; Turkuaz, RHCP, and Lorde.
Corey Smith in the undercard? Not a big fan personally, but I know he was always a hit with my girlfriend and her LSU crowd when he played Baton Rouge. Ive taken her to his show twice and I think he would make a good addition to the beach.

lately, really digging Auerbach's solo album. I'm throwing in a vote for the black keys or just Auerbach by himself. AND, since its still early and I have to say this at least once every year till it happens, PHISH!
Ehhh, if ne215 wanted to go I'd be down. This ACL/VOODOO fall combo is spoiling me for headliner bookings.
Yeah man. Jay-Z, Foo Fighters, Kendrick, Ice Cube, LCD Soundsystem, Chance, Gorillaz, Prophets - the early fall is going to rule.
Still have Sound on Sound and D4N to drop. SOS is looking good worthwhile for some real indie shit and rarities. Might have a plus +1 or +2 for voodoo.
Has anyone risen from unknown to headliner to complete obscurity as fast as Sam Smith? It was about a six month affair. He had those voice issues and then was never heard of again for two years. Apparently he is recording again. Will be interesting to see if anyone cares.

Frank Ocean | Sam Smith | Calvin Harris | DJ Snake
Damn. That's a painful fall from grace with the returning cancellations.
As for Drake, I bet he starts turning back up as a headliner for 2018. Hopefully if he plays here, it would be at Jazz Fest or Essence Fest so we don't get him again at Voodoo. He'll be a good draw for any festival's ticket sales. But mostly female fans and kids listen to him at this point. So I'd rather a crowd full of Bassheads over Drake Fans. JMO
but wouldnt we all want kanye > drake. bassnectar > odesza. & tenacious d > alt-j.
that muse tho.
We would but they're not realistic imo. Bassnectar could work tho. I wonder if they're avoiding him given the frequency Okeechobee keeps booking him and their proximity.

I can't think of a more boring show honestly. He was just popular at the time due to all the awards that album was winning. Remember the Forecastle headliners that year? Pretty sure he was their number one, a year after they had Outkast and Jack White as headliners. Yikes
Just noticed Lorde's new tour dates don't hit NOLA or anything in Alabama. 2 dates in Florida and some Texas dates. My only concern is that they run through April 15th and with her being from overseas, idk if she's going to be hanging out in the US until May 20th or so. Did she do Jazzfest this past year? I could see her maybe doing it in 2018.

Yeah. She was there this year. Jazz Fest books differently than anyone else. She was #9. It was Stevie Wonder, Tom Petty, Maroon 5, Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds, Kings of Leon, Usher & Roots, Harry Connick Jr., Meghan Trainor, Lorde, Snoop Dog...
