Jack White or RHCP/John Legend/Stevie Nicks Arctic Monkeys/Odesza/Alt-J
or
Drake / Killers / Lorde / Doobies or equal classic rock band Tedeschi Trucks Band / Sturgill Simpson / Alt-J
Killers repeating this quick is ok but rather have RHCP or Jack White if we are going to do repeats. Im good with the second line Zaj. I want to make up for missing Lorde. Drake is just Drake. Rather have John Legend, Pharrel Williams, John Mayer, Arcade Fire, or just about anybody else. Does he toss out the f-bomb every other word at live performances?
Just pay for two tickets tomorrow and bring a friend...7 of 8 for me should be a good one. Geez, what a deal to see the Inforoo Hangout Brew Crew live with a 3 channel PA upgrade and some high octane Apple Shine.
I am going full electric next year. Warning....

Halfway through the year. What's yalls best shows thus far?
I've got two fest to draw from in SXSW and Hangout. In less than a week Ill be doing a Umphreys > Gorillaz (w Vince Staples) > Lupe Fiasco run with ne215 which I assume all 3 should end up as best of the year sets. The Fall Fest run will probably bump almost all of these off the list.
1. Roots Jam @ 411 Congress Ave (SXSW) (feat Brandi, De La Soul, Shakey Graves, T.I, Rae Sremmurd, Method Man & Redman) 2. Weezer @ Surf Stage (Hangout Fest) 3. STS9 2 Nights @ ACL Moody Theatre 4. Lotus 2 Nights @ Emo's East 5. Future Islands @ Pandora House (SXSW) 6. Cage The Elepahnt @ ACL Moody Theatre 7. !!! (chkchkchk) 2 Nights @ Pandora House & Maggie Mae's (SXSW) 8. Umphreys McGee @ Stubbs 9. Mutemath @ Main Stage (Hangout Fest) 10. Los Coast @ C-Boys
1) Metallica @ Soldier Field 2) U2 @ Bonnaroo 3) Future Islands @ Bonnaroo (pit) 4) Run The Jewels @ Aragon Ballroom 5) The XX @ Bonnaroo
I imagine Roger Waters, Liam Gallagher's Lolla Aftershow, and Arcade Fire will all compete for spots in that top 5. I'm guessin all 3 will replace 3-5 tbh, just depends on the order. I'd like to think NIN would crack the top 5 but idk what to expect from the production/time slot at Riot Fest.
1. STS9 - Axe The Cables @ Joy Theater New Orleans 1. Sigur Ros @ Saenger Theater New Orleans 3. Tycho @ Buku Fest New Orleans 4. moe. (plus Turkuaz in parts) @ Orpheum Theater (show #2) 5. GrizMatiK @ Buku Fest New Orleans 6. Pretty Lights Popup & Parade Show under the I-10 - unofficial Jazz Fest closeout 7. Radiohead @ Smoothie King Center New Orleans 8. Dave Chappelle's Juke Jive with Chance the Rapper, Vince Staples, Jarobi White, Kardinal Official, Estelle, etc. 9. Gramatik @ Joy Theater Late Night New Orleans Buku Afterparty 10.Trey Anastasio Band @ Jazz Fest New Orleans
HM - NAS with Soul Rebels, Snoop Dog, Stevie Wonder, Widespread Panic, Sleigh Bells, Umphrey's McGee, Muse
Haha. That shit was so fucking good. Going into the weekend with Trey Band, Nas, moe. and electric STS9, it was kind of an afterthought way to end that first Jazz Fest weekend. It's hard to explain how good it was. I've seen them do it on streams and YouTube, but it was way more - live and up front. Damn. What's fucked up is I'm struggling to decide if that or Sigur Ros was better. Haha. I wasn't going to troll beachbob about wishing he went to 21 Pilots even though that may be the worst post ever, but people had no idea how extreme that show was going to get. A dozen people, many non fans, have posted on the good shows thread how blow away and what a sonic assault it became. So I got blow your mind and senses vs semi-acoustic jazzier versions of Tribe. I don't know man. There's a lot of big shit coming up plus late fall concerts plus unannounced Day for Night. I'm thinking only U2 with Beck will give either of those shows a run for their (my) money.

Tickets were 100+ for Sigur Ros here so I passed, then found out a friend had some for free after the fact.
The latter half of the year is ridiculously loaded starting with Gorillaz in less than 2 weeks which I expected to bump the Roots as the best show this year. Other potentials are LCD (1st and 2nd best show last year), 2nd set of Gorillaz at ACL, Jay Z, Foo Fighers, Kendrick, Arcade Fire and whatever D4N may bring. Sound on Sound may bring some unexpected top shows (Jagwar Ma DJ set last year, Beach House)
Yeah. Foo Fighters is a dark horse. the Glastonbury set was crazy outrageous. The crowd refused to give up on The Best of You (the 15 minute version). Festival Snobs called it glorious (ironically the same term used by local mag Offbeat for the Axe the Cables show). If you haven't seen that yet, go to their website for a clip or 3/4 or so through the set on YouTube.
Btw, even though we saw them live and I've watched tons of more shows,I need to dig deeper into Thievery. Randomly '04's album Outernational Sound was on and sounding good as Thievery should.
Thievery has a new album that my co worker had on. Sounded pretty decent and typical of their style. Would love for C3 to take over HangOut which was obviously cure the boring headliner issue here
Lolla: Chance, Muse, Arcade Fire, Killers ACL: Jay Z, Chance, Gorillaz, Killers, RHCP VooDoo: Foo Fighters, Killers, LCD Soundsystem, Kendrick, DJ Snake Shaky Knees: Phoenix, LCD Soundsystem, XX
Looking at this, you have to wonder how the fuck Voodoo pulls a top line comparable to Lolla and ACL. Well, Lolla and ACL both sellout so I'm thinking C3 is going to take a loss on VooDoo in hopes of beefing it up for the future to the size of ACL/Lolla.
Temple of I and I. I saw where they recorded rythym tracks in rural Jamaica back in 15 and it ended up with a big dub (not step) sound. I'll check that out this weekend when I have some time. All their shit is different - every release. I know Dan808 said he loves them too.

I have it...been enjoying it. It's a mix of all the stuff they do, not just reggae. ...and their last show at the Tabernacle would be on my list.
1. Pharrell w/The Roots featuring N.O.R.E, Pusha T, and Black Thought @ Roots Picnic
Black Thoughts Live Mixtape w/Scott Storch, Mobb Deep, Fat Joe @ Roots Picnic Portugal The Man @ Union Transfer Philly Run The Jewels @ Electric Factory Philly Marah @ HoagieNation Fest
Honorable Mention: Frank Turner @ The Fillmore Philly (He fuckin ruled but it didnt top his last show there the year prior)
4/7 WRESTLEMANIA 40 4/21 Earthless 4/25 Carrtoons 4/26 The Motet, Lespecial 5/9 The Polish Ambassador 5/10 Sean Paul 5/24 Andy Fraso & The UN, Pigeons Playing Pingpong 6/8 Gary Clark Jr. 6/20 SNACKTIME 7/12 Disco Biscuits 7/25 Beck w/The Philadelphia Orchestra

2017 shows have started off slow for me being that I've been saving for Life is Beautiful Fest and doing Voodoo Fest as well so far right now top 5 shows are: 1. Weezer- HOF 2. RHCP- Nola concert with their encore Nola superjam 3. Mumford and Sons- HOF 4. Band of Horses- HOF last song everyone dancing in the rain was one of the coolest things 5. Chance the Rapper- HOF

Just purchased 2 GA tickets for Hangout 2018 @ $239 each for a total of $478. They include a $25 convenience fee on each ticket. VIP was $899. My $2017 GA ticket was $309 so that is a savings of $70 per ticket. Not bad. I wont need a shuttle pass next year so I am set.
