Is there just one person out there that has listened to the Lowly album? Even if you didn't like it.. I had no idea how frustrated I could get over not having a single person to talk to about an album with
I feel like if you're a fan of Susanne Sundfer, Julia Holter, and/or Animal Collective, you will really enjoy this album. Not saying it sounds directly like those bands, but I get the same type of enjoyment out of it that I get from those bands. Scratches the same itch.. It's European semi-synthy, indie art pop

I remember liking it and I will revisit it. But, it doesn't hit me like Susanne Sundfor hits me, especially 10 Love Songs. That album hooked me from the first listen. Lowly had its momemts from what I remember. Like I said, I'll give it another go, because maybe I missed something and I love your excitement for it.
I was just messing with you. It was solid but nothing jumped out at me. I'm a sucker for that kind of music though so I'll revisit it at some point. Look At The Sun was the highlight from what I remember.
Agreed with pg3melt that Susanne Sundfor's last album was much more arresting than Lowly.

Same. Nothing was bad but it didn't really draw me in.
AnCo was really good and Kinda Bonkers is one of my favorite songs they've put out.
I was surprised to enjoy the Future album but it's not something I'll revisit much except for at the gym.
I think for me it'll end up being between Dirty Projectors and Thundercat
I was underwhelmed for Animal Collective, unfortunately. I would love to hear an EP more in the style of Mountain Game, but this just sounded a lot like Painting With B-sides (which they probably were). I did like Jimmy Mack, though.
I'm like 8 minutes into the first track of the new Sun Kil Moon and I've been pretty entranced. its 16 tracks and 2 hours (fuck..) so we'll see if I can make it through in one sitting.

*I didn't, too dense for work.
Love Koz, but this new album is a total slog. I somehow managed to get thru the full thing last night/this morning, but it'll be a miracle if I listen to it again from start to finish.
In classic Koz fashion, there are some hilarious quips throughout the album. For being the most crotchety fuck in music, he still manages to be funny every now and again

I'm not super into them by any means but I liked Benji and the Jesu thing was fine, but this most recent one is tough.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

The singles were good, the production is really good. But it doesn't have that Dirty Projectors sound that makes him such unique artist. Not that I was expecting Bitte Orca pt. 2, but it just didn't seem as unique or ambitious as any of his other projects.
My biggest problem is mostly the lyrics though. Like holy fuck we get it, you went through a break up. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, it just lacked any subtlety whatsoever. It got really tedious and monotonous after a while. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood for it at the time. I'll listen again and see if I change my mind.
I've got my current Feb list down to 15 albums with five that will almost definitely end up in my final month top ten. I didn't really expect to like so much from this month.
I'll update this message by the end of the day.
UPDATE: So with one week to go, my front runners are Lowly, Sampha, Teen Daze, Bing & Ruth, and Ryan Adams.
Other albums still in strong consideration for my top ten are London O'Connor, Syd, Dirty Projectors, Maggie Rogers, HOMESHAKE, Tinariwen, and Big Sean. I think any of these albums are worth a listen if you got the time.
