Both the new LCD songs are great and the new Grizzly Bear song is incredible, might be the best out of the three. Great day for music
I've never listened to Grizzly bear before that song, I will need to change that
They released another new song yesterday called "Mourning Sound." You can listen on Spotify. Along with Veckatimest and Shields, I would also recommend the album Yellow House. It's more avant garde but really amazing stuff. Even further down the rabbit hole, check out any of Daniel Rossen's other work (solo album and Department of Eagles), as well as Chris Taylor's solo work as Cant.

A friend works with Howard Ivans and recently turned me onto his music. He was in Gayngs and The Rosebuds so Bon Iver adjacent. This sounds like a way more soulful Destroyer though. Check it out.
Make it happen. I'm hoping this tour means they might spend a hot minute with this project. Either way, it's one of my most anticipated albums this year.

Are there any other bands that you'd suggest similar to Ex Eye?

I got nothing with horns but I do have a few suggestions.
Locrian and Sannhet are the first things that jumps to mind. It's dark, moody, and instrumental in that vein. Locrian, in particular, are an absolute must. One of my current favorites.
If you don't know Greg Fox's solo output, you need to. He's one of the best drummers alive today, imo.
It's interesting that absolutely none of the members are in/have been in any metal acts till this. They are all apart of the experimental/improved community. Crazy how well they nailed it.

Thanks!
I'm gonna check out Locrian and Greg Fox today. I know of Sannhet, and saw them live earlier this year, and enjoyed it a lot.
I had no idea none of them (with the exception of Colin Stetson) were involved with metal music before. Really looking forward to this album.

I was checking one of Liturgy's albums, and it lists Greg Fox as the drummer. I think there's a bit of a connection to metal music prior to Ex Eye after all.

I honestly forget he's in that. Z's, I remember but I think of Hunter when I think of Liturgy. You're right though. There is a connection.
Badbadnotgood is the curator of the next Late Night Tales compilation which will be released July 28. They released the first song from it which is a cover of Andy Shauff's To You.
