“It’s not for a lack of trying, however—Post Malone (real name: Austin Post) is presenting his most authentic self here, talking openly about relationships and taking too many drugs and drinking a little too much, amidst numerous “we made it” anthems. But he’s simply not a compelling artist; he doesn’t say anything new about these struggles, doesn’t frame them in a particularly memorable way, and has nothing to say now that he’s wrestled with his fame. What pushes Stoney past being merely forgettable and into a kind of cynical, punishing listen is the access to a bunch of producers and songwriters that came together behind the 21 year old to ensure a product so highly polished, and so clearly connect-the-dots, it robs him of any trace of charm. The album ends up doubling as a tacit acknowledgment that, hey, maybe this guy is just not that interesting.”

i generally agree with the review, except i think post malone is the most interesting artist of all time. i hope he becomes our president of hte united states.
Speaking of the Migos, they put on the worst live show ever. They go onstage in front of thousands of people with all of their mics autotuned and rap over their own vocals. But a lot of their songs don't have autotune. So they'll basically play a song like Bad and Boujie, and they'll harmonize autotune over it while the DJ makes gunshot noises over the track. And the crowd will go crazy.

Now imagine that replacing Solange a day before the festival starts...
To be fair, after seeing Solange's show at Radio City a couple weeks ago, I'm a little glad I didn't experience it at an abbreviated daytime festival set

it looks like they've never performed live before.
but you are right, that crowd is at a 102% energy level.
After going to part of Travis Scott's set at Roo this year, my takeaway are that these kinds of rappers are simply taking a page from the EDM book: Do something that cues the crowd to lose their shit every ~30-60 seconds and keep it simple so that the crowd really doesn't need to know your music ahead of time. The crowd is just looking for an excuse to get fucked up and party. It's like a color by number book for concert goers.
I'm not hating on it at all... I personally found it to be monotonous, but if others are enjoying it, I'm happy for them. I have a feeling we'll see more of this before the trend is over.
Seems like it could go either way. It's possible they couldn't reschedule Nashville for May because they're already booked for Roo, so they won't be able to do it until later in the year.
Wouldn't that mean that we are getting Foo'd? The Nashville show being this October wouldn't be radius claused but if they rescheduled it with the other shows then it would be.
Now that we probably have Foo Fighters and the Killers, what do we do?

I don't know if I see them going 3/3 on rock headliners, and I also don't see them dropping the "classic rock" headliner formula they've had in place, so maybe no Killers?
To respond to your edits, I'd think Drake is the obvious pick if it is Foo/Killers. He's also probably #1, but maybe they'll give Grohl & Co. the legacy bump
That's horrible. I doubt the undercard makes up for that set of headliners and I think Chainsmokers 15 minutes may have passed. Tickets should still move tho.

I'm assuming we'll get 1 hip hop headliner in the top 2 and it'll either be Jay-Z or Drake. I couldn't see FF being #2 with a classic rock headliner a la GnR or Fleetwood at the #1 spot.

I mean that's what they did this year w/ U2 and RHCP. It would have to be Fleetwood Mac or maybe the Stones. GnR seems too heavy to pair with Foo Fighters.
Then they'd put someone like Frank Ocean or maybe Gambino as #3. There aren't a lot of options for that spot though, so you might be right

Fleetwood Mac - Foo Fighters - Future - Frank Ocean - F this
Could Odesza be #4? They sold out the Staples center at approx. 21,000 people two days ago, and are typically billed above Major Lazer.
I don't know but someone on reddit told me they should play on The Other Stage in San Holo's timeslot. Then thought I was being ridiculous when I told them Odesza would be late night on the Which Stage.

I think we're the ones being ridiculous and that Odesza is just as popular as San Holo, and that Pink Floyd will be doing a late night set next year.
