Alright here's a game: What headliners have you seen in 2014-2017 that you would want to see again? Headliner here equals band you saw headlining a major festival or playing an arena or large amphitheater.
I'll go first.
Kanye West Iron Maiden
end of list.
edit: actually, since I'm seeing LCD Soundsystem for a third time this fall I should say them, but I won't be seeing them in a headliner setting per my own rules so idk
Kanye West (but that won't happen) OutKast (also won't happen) Jack White Eminem (if he actually puts out a good album and stops with the lip sync) Kendrick Lamar

Not a headliner but should have been: The Replacements. I'm putting them here because I know it'll never, ever happen.

-I'm excluding the electronic "headliners" I saw at Day For Night/Movement, because they aren't in the spirit of this exercise.
-Notable exclusions: Radiohead, Tool, Foo Fighters, Arcade Fire. All acts I like but they aren't rustlin' my jimmies at the moment.
-It is funny that I included all three Bonnaroo 2016 headliners.
in that same vein, here's some Praxis, which is basically BBB with Bill Laswell instead of Claypool. Lili Haydn guests to duel Buckethead in Maggot Brain
Trying to figure out why I wasn't at this show, so I googled a schedule.
90% sure I was at Vida Blue but I'm having a hard time accessing the memory. Just seems like it's where I would be. I remember Dave & Friends vividly. Fairly certain I wasn't at UM because that was one of their biggest shows ever, I wasn't super familiar with them then. I'd seen them open for moe. in 2003 in New Orleans but that was it.
Anyway contemporary postjack would have chosen Buckethead playing maggot brain. live and learn.

I actually only popped by praxis for a little bit as my bass teacher at the time told me I should check out laswell. didn't actually see that maggot brain cover (though I have that set from a taper after the fest).
Then I went over to Umphrey's for the rest of the night and got to see Umphrey's> moe. switcheroo > umphreys

Bonnaroo used to have a fourth tent?
It did for that year. I don't remember it any other one. Another was on the other side of the road between This and Other, I think.

Seeing Guns N Roses next week so I reserve the option of adding them to the list.
Man, literally so tired of most of those names (and I know, this fest isn't just out to serve me yada yada).
If recent history is any indication, we don't even have 2 of the top 4 on our radar at the 10 month mark.
Last year there's no way people were predicting U2 & The Weeknd in August. The year before nobody knew LCD and PJ were doing reunion tours... and I bet Dead & Co wasn't on many radars either.
Here's some different names for you to chew on:
Legacy Contenders:
- Garth Brooks - Madonna - Neil Diamond - Dolly Parton - R.E.M (we wouldn't know of a reunion at this point) - Neil Young (new album) - Aretha Franklin (new album) - Bruce Springsteen (new album)
New Albums anticipated:
- Eminem - Missy Elliott - Lil Wayne - Nas - The 1975 - Muse - Vampire Weekend - Jack Johnson - The National - My Morning Jacket (could bump to #4?)
