Every tax season various people around the office make playlists to be posted to our company's official Spotify account.
Last year I crushed it with my "Funk Season" playlist. It was clearly the best playlist of the year.
I've recently determined that Earth, Wind & Fire's 1978 single "September" is, objectively, the greatest song ever written. As such, it seems apropos to build a playlist around this song. I've already picked several potential songs, there are many obvious choices, but I'd like to hear what suggestions inforoo has to offer. The audience for a playlist is an office of approximately 70 professionals, ranging in age from college freshman to 60+ years old. So in other words, we need to bring the fucking hits. But deeper cuts are completely acceptable as long as they are almost instantly determinable to be awesome to a new listener.

I see what you are doing, and you are getting more creative with your theming than I intended. I should have clarified, I want songs with similar rhythms to "September", similar groove. Soul music, funk music, etc. Music made by black people.

I might say screw it and put this on there this year, but the reference to weed had me take it off last year. Lame I know. In its staid last year I used Tower of Power's "Soul Vaccination".
