Holy shit what a boring top 50. I know they don't base their list off their review scores but leaving off Visible Cloaks after giving it one of the highest scores of the year is pretty weird.
The very top is pretty predictable, but a lot of the list has some interesting jazz and world music type stuff I've not heard of before and am looking forward to checking out!
They're an alternative magazine over here, tbh I'm a little bit dissappointed not see Father John Misty, Mac DeMarco, Planetarium etc on there.. Hm Sufjan got snubbed a lot I've noticed.. WHY

Yep. Literally hasn't been on a single American list I've seen.
But I mean this is the country that voted in Trump, so.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

I know I'll probably get murdered for this opinion but I didn't think Planetarium was anything special and actually was quite disappointed

I am getting ready to do a comedy show. I'll let you know in the morning.
*eagerly awaits*
(hope your show went welll!)
it went super well and I'm about to be a jackass. But I have to retract my statement. I had listened to it two different times when it first came out and found it to be bland and boring. I thought it was difficult for me to connect to. Both times I kept thinking "why is this so loved?" Looking back at the release date though I had some stuff I was working through at the time and honestly wasn't doing well. I listened to it on the way home last night and felt I was listening to a completely different album. I was mildly lit and high on the rush of performing while walking though. So I'm about to give it one more go while I cook and give you my final opinion

I'm absolutely fine with you being a jackass in that you're retracting your statement, if it means you're telling me that you have seen the light now

Finally a list I can mostly get behind! And wouldn't you know it, it's based on populist voting of a shit ton of NPR-listening music nerds instead of the opinions of a handful of professional music nerds
