I watched the whole season this afternoon and night. It was pretty top notch and I really enjoyed it. I think the most impressive part about the acting of the lead characters is that they are so realistically young. They could very much pass for even younger than 17, but the actors are both in their 20s. You could argue that it's more skillful for a teen actor to pull off a convincing performance as a teen but I think it speaks to their true potential and skill that they are so convincingly young and ironically innocent.
We finished this yesterday as well (thank you snow day). There were moments that I was completely uncomfortable watching. It was good, but I have issues but don't have time right now to get into them or spoil them. Will do that later.

I'm really interested to hear about the parts you're referencing. I have my suspicions, but it could be a lot of moments.

I don't like movies/shows where the main characters constantly make bad choices and never learn from their mistakes, so they keep compounding the problem. That is not how most humans work.
With this show, I get that they are teenagers and fucked and that is why they made the choices they made. But as an adult, after they killed the rapist dude, regardless of them breaking into the house, they should have reported it and their bad decisions made me very uncomfortable.
I just had to keep reminding myself that they are kids and dumb and it is a TV show, but when they went separate ways, every decision made me cringe.
It got way better once they reunited. Some reason after their bullshit alone stuff I got back into the show and didn't feel as uncomfortable.

This is not at all what I expected you to say haha. I'm usually the type of person who gets all kinds of uncomfortable watching people trying to sing, or doing something truly embarrassing, or anything socially awkward that I can relate to on a personal level. But I never really felt that with this show. I feel like their actions matched their characters. Maybe it was because they're British and I just assume that British people make decisions differently than we do hahaha
just started this today and i really like it so far!! i think the contrast in personalities between james and alyssa is really interesting. definitely gonna continue watching at some point
I really loved the first 2-3 episodes of this series, but thought the last 5 or so episodes were dragged out and didn’t really have a good direction. I was reaching a point to where I went from loving the main two characters to hating them. The first few episodes were fantastic, though.

Totally agree. Super interesting plot line that was stretched out way too long. Also I felt the issues were resolved a few episodes before the finale
