I went to that show for the PNC date two weeks back (free tickets too). You didnt miss out on too much. Manson had a bad case of "I am mostly going to play my new material" and at one point he was playing what sounded like trap music? I dont know or care about new Manson material. Shit was weird. Zombie was pretty good, it was mostly all greatest hits that you'd want to hear. But seen him once and youve seen him, nothing new.
Jones Beach is beautiful on a nice day, but so inconvenient to get to. Its really out in the middle of nowhere. When you have pit tickets and the high tide comes in, you wind up standing in like 8 inches of water for the whole show. I try to avoid that venue unless its a show that I cant catch anywhere else (last one for me was Rammstein a year ago).
Yeah I hear Zombie is really entertaining live, I'd like to finally cross him off the list. How packed/empty was the PNC show? The Jones Beach show was selling terribly.
And yeah Jones Beach is a beautiful venue that I have really great memories of, but nowadays I only find myself there when I find free or really discounted tickets.
PNC was totally dead. Day of tickets were going for like $12. I got a free pair of lawn from a facebook contest that definitely had a ton of winners.
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?
UPCOMING SHOWS 5/14 - Neil Young & Crazy Horse @ Forest Hills 6/8 and maybe 6/9 - Governors Ball 8/17 - King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard @ Forest Hills 9/4 - Pearl Jam @ MSG 9/7 - Pearl Jam @ Wells Fargo Center 9/11 - St. Vincent @ Brooklyn Paramount
Just noticed that RUFUS DU SOL is playing three nights at Terminal 5 at the end of November. Heard the venue is awful. Is that true?
I think it gets more shit than it deserves but it's probably the worst major club in the city and there's a definite reason most artists play Brooklyn Steel instead now

I've seen a lot of great shows at T5 though
Yeah, agreed on both counts. I've seen some really amazing shows there. Hell, I got engaged there (M83, October 2016).
My beef with the place boils down to two things:
1) The sound/acoustics generally suck.
2) They oversell it - I was at a Flaming Lips show there for which the floor was so packed that I saw a guy literally pass out, but not be able to fall down because everyone was wedged in so tightly.

Ugh whyyyy does it have to be Kings Theatre? That seems like such a pain in the ass commute.
You're in Queens right? Shouldn't be too bad of an Uber ride if you pool it. Otherwise, you're taking all sorts of trains through Manhattan to get there.
Why is this advertised as Tomorrow's Modern Boxes? A record from a few years ago?
Got your answer:
This holiday season, Thom Yorke will bring a very different kind of performance to this continent. Joined by longtime Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich and visual artist Tarik Barri, he’ll showcase his solo material and works from Atoms For Peace’s Amok in “a live electronic performance.” The tour is being billed as the Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes US Tour 2018, named for Yorke’s most recent solo LP from 2014. Presumably it will be similar to the European gigs Yorke performed earlier this year before Radiohead hit the road, as well as the short run of shows Yorke performed in the US around last December’s Day For Night festival. Cross your fingers for new material.

I just mapped it out and it's still like a 45 minute cab ride. Subway would be like an hour and a half.
I may suck it up and go for Death Cab but that'll probably be one of the few times I ever go to Kings.

I have a similar attitude towards Forest Hills, it's like an hour if things go well. Last two times, the subway has been delayed due to a fight breaking out and/or just general MTA failures. I will say it's a nice theater if you make the trek, much preferable to United Palace.
Damn, I went to all 4 Radiohead shows in MSG and now this?!
Death Cab and Thom will be the only shows I'll do at Kings Theatre unless I also score tickets to David Byrne later on.... I keep hearing bad reviews about United Palace, why is so bad about it besides being so far? I'm doing that venue for Beach House in a week.
6/9: Gary Clark Jr.? 6/23: Brittany Howard? 7/13: elrow 7/20: Mt. I got that Cake/Ben Folds email too. It said I can get 4 free tickets, but it would only let me get 1.
Jamiroquai is sold out (or really close to it) so I doubt we'll get a giveaway for that. But I would love to get another one for Portugal the Man and The National.
