In a perfect world, Caribou and Floating Points will make the rounds next year.
While talking electronic acts, Max Cooper's new show looks super impressive. He would be a cool add that hasn't really been discussed much.
If we get live electronic of Caribou, Thom, FloPo, Max Cooper, and the ever elusive Chem Bros, we'd be in for a great year.
I personally would attend the Coldplay set, I saw them on their last arena tour as my brother was a fan and it was a fun, if silly show. They are just one of those "easy target" bands on the internet, the lineup threads would be full of hate.

lol but then you'd have to actually go to the fest, and we know no one here does that.

Just came across Max Cooper because he got added to the Intersect lineup, and I'm really digging it. Tried looking up info on his show but his website wasn't loading for me. Can anyone explain what's special about his live AV set?

I would assume most of Coldplay's set would be Viva La Vida and Mylo Xyloto, I think that was their most popular run and they last played Coachella pre-Viva.

The most played albums on their set will be their most recent ones. Glancing through their last setlist I see only one song from Viva and 3 from Mylo. At least 5 were from A Head Full Of Stars. I'd guess their new tour will lean most heavily on the new album, mix in a bunch of Rush of Blood (4 songs in this setlist) and then a scattering of other tunes. It'll be maybe 1/3 songs I want to hear.

Also looks like they'll be putting out 2 albums, so even more new music will probably make it in

New Wolf Parade music coming, plus a tour ending in Europe in mid-March. I was surprised Coachella didn't get their reunion earlier, but maybe they'll be there this year.

I'm someone who actually really wants Coldplay as I've never seen them before and a festival is the perfect place do to it (similar to Ariana for me this year). But I would be so bummed if it's strong majority new songs. I'm hoping, for Coachella, that they will tweak their setlist and at least balance it out better than that.

Guy on Reddit saying his friend who works in the industry is claiming Rihanna is headlining. Pics of tweets in link.
"I' know I've never had any scoops before, but I have a friend who works in the entertainment industry who tweeted that Rihanna's next album will be dropping in a few months and that she will be headlining Coachella with this album. She further stated that Rihanna has had a contract to perform for almost two years now, but chose to defer because she didn't want to be after Beyonce, and then because her album wasn't ready. She also said that Rihanna has to perform soon or she will be in violation of that contract.
I really don't know if this is true or not, especially since I don't know the exact nature of her work, but I do know that she has had contact with some major artists and people in the business before. I don't know why she would openly tweet this information out if she were lying, but I just want to reiterate that I really don't know if this is true. If it ends up false then whatever, but I thought it was worth sharing with everyone here either way."

If Coldplay is actually doing a festival tour then the Rihanna rumor becomes slightly more believable in my eyes. Travis has played every city at this point, Lana is about to start a big tour, if Coldplay ain't a festival exclusive then something seems real off with them as a top 3. Throwing Rihanna in the mix and having Travis/Lana coheadline brings some exclusivity (assuming Rihanna doesn't do her own festival tour, lol) and also corroborates those old rumors of Lana coheadlining with somebody.
Can someone ask the old lady from Egypt what she thinks of Lana Del Rey headlining Coachella so we can know whether the festival has redeemed its reputation as a laughingstock worldwide

I'll admit to having my mind entirely changed after seeing Tool last night. They had the most intricate and impressive visual setup I've ever seen at a rock show, truly only headliner material. They played 2:15 and the stage setup would only fit on main. It was the most packed I've ever seen our arena in Denver (been to other "sold out" shows but tix are left in scalpers hand or some no shows).
But, the crowd would be so out of place at Coachella. Maynard also had increased security that booted people who took pictures (no phones allowed), if he's demanding that at their arena shows, would he even want to play Coachella? I sort of saw it happening before, but now I'd be pretty shocked.
The Whitest Boy Alive are doing festivals next year. Could definitely see them back here, but selfishly hoping for Prima instead.
I'm really curious to see what Prima ends up looking like. I have a feeling everyone's getting a little too excited about what it could be; it's hard to imagine a LiveNation-produced fest being that interesting, even if it's in partnership with Primavera.
