Anyone have any insight into what the Floating Points set will look like? Looking up his sets on youtube, I see he sometimes performs with a full band and was wondering if that's what I should expect.

It will probably be like the set Resident Advisor posted last year where he plays live but solo. Sounds really good but his band was excellent.
I haven’t been to Coachella since 2012. Does anyone know if they still have the same alcohol policy? I remember there being designated 21-and up beer gardens. I hope that’s changed because it was a bit of a bummer.

That hasn’t changed. They have added some bars recently. Last year they added air conditioned bars in the Yuma and the Sonora. You can easily watch artists from the Sonora bar, which is nice if you’re into up and coming rock acts.

Right. There are more of them, they’re bigger, and easier to get in and out of. But they still exist.

Nice! That’s right up my alley. The Chats, Amyl & The Sniffers, Mannequin Pussy, Viagra Boys, Fountains D.C. are all on my list of smaller bands to check out.
The addition of a bar in the Sonora plus De La Soul and The Roots playing in the Heineken House led to me drinking a good bit more than usual last year.

I spent the last hour of that Roots set about to piss myself but scared I wouldn’t be able to get back in if I left

Not sure if they had this in 2012 but the craft beer garden is wonderful and there're dozens of beers to choose from if you want to try some new brews. Last year during the day I spent most of my time going back and forth between the Gobi/Mojave, the craft beer garden and the Sonora.

That started in 2014. Plus the Cantina is another option and the secret bars in the marketplace and vip area.
Bah to anyone hating on 100 gecs, listened to them and loving it.

The Chemical Brothers beating out Flume for best Electronic/Dance album at last night's Grammy's is bitter sweet. Still can't believe we didn't get them...

What are people’s thoughts on Erick Morillo? Anyone have any live show reviews? I’m enjoying one of the YouTube sets I found, but didn’t hear anyone talk him up earlier.
The most recent mix I heard of his was fairly straightforward house and was really good. I wasn’t planning on checking him out but if the mood is right he should deliver the goods.
Firefly and Boston Calling line-ups make me feel warm and fuzzy planning to go to Coachella this year.
This is the sentiment every year. People are disappointed and then the rest of the majors drop and people start to realize that Coachella is still the best major in America.

Interesting tidbit:
The 'Feels Like We Only Go Backwards' hitmakers stepped in to top the bill at the Californian festival last year after Justin Timberlake pulled out and though frontman Kevin Parker loved the gig, it wasn't particularly profitable because of the cost of putting on a great show.
He said: "[Coachella is] equal parts festival gig and promo. We spent a lot of money, got a creative director, just had to dive in headfirst. I think we pulled it off. Didn't make any money."
