As we close out the decade. Please rank your top 5 worst headliners in Bonnaroo History 2010 - 2019.
1. Billy Joel 2. Red Hot Chili Peppers 3. Mumford and Sons 4. Kings of Leon 5. Chance the Rapper
I'm not a big fan of KoL, but their live shows are pretty good. Did they suck at Bonnaroo?
No they didn’t, it was fucking good. As someone that hates the Sex on fire era and on, I was not stoked for it, but I thought they slayed. Absolutely murdeted Trani and The “Where is My Mind” cover was unexpected and really good

I like The Killers more than most on here but man that 2018 was sloppy.
Embarrassingly sloppy. I was ready to give it an honest chance, I’ve been surprised by acts I don’t like before, but Jesus for “professional musicians” sounded like a shitty cover band.
It’s impossible for me to even listen to Crystal Castles now. I had no idea they played so recently. Forever tainted
hard to leave them off the decades list (more so for me than any brand new/ryan adams), and yeah it really wasn't even that long ago.
i think i was talking about it to someone around ACL this year about how it very much stuck, the guy was clearly guilty, and im happy he hasn't been able to worm himself back into any other Crystal Castles gigs.
You’d think that if they booked Tool for anything it’d be for that other thing in October. But I guess you can say the same about Foo Fighters.
i feel like Foo's are much closer to the GnR's and Skynards of the world than Tool is, and Tool is closer to a jam band than Foos, so that makes a more marketable split to me.
I really don't know what Tool's draw at a festival is, they sell out arena's instantly for crazy prices, and then play buttrock festivals to hundreds of people.

2007 was a blow out year, and full as fuck with Tool as the HL - I don't see how this changes dramatically with the timing of their recent album

I will go ahead and diffuse the Tool rumors now so y’all don’t get blue balls in January.
Also, Vampire Weekend is going to be there but not billed quite as high as some people here seem to believe. Think more like Hozier or Cardi’s spot this year.
I’ve found out that lineups are constructed SO far in advance! 2020’s lineup is virtually entirely complete and I already have some confirmations for 2021 (none of which are headliner-level acts, but still)
I used to think that lineups were put together in the last 5-6 months before the reveal, but just like with most things I say in here, I was way wrong!!
What’s up Roo crew? I have an update for you guys.
First off, I am here to tell you guys I’m sorry for last year’s shenanigans. The honest truth is that I do have a filthy tight source that gets lineup info every year for Bonnaroo, Hangout, Ultra and ACL amongst other festivals. What I said here last year was true, we got 3 ACL headliners (Gambino, The National, Odesza) and 2 of Hangout’s top six (Lumineers, Cardi B)
The Rihanna/Rolling Stones stuff I said here on lineup reveal day was obviously a joke, and I apologize to everyone for giving some false hope at the last minute. When I heard the lineup for myself, I was unimpressed, but that’s because I’m young and Phish - Gambino - Post - Lumineers just wasn’t my style at all, regardless of how good lots of people felt the lineup was.
For anyone that believes I’m a phony, I understand and I respect it. If allowed, this year I will just be dropping in with info I get as it comes to me. I have absolutely nothing to confirm right now. All I know is that Bonnaroo is looking to get a fresh set of headliners after a year in which they had 3 repeat acts headlining.
I’ll drop by here again when I know more. Thanks everyone!!
Are they a real rumor, like a bonafide scoop, or just a "seems likely"?
I would say they’re a “seems likely” but they have a 9 day break and then play SC on the Friday of Roo which is about as close to a lock as you can get. By rumor, I just meant anything like that not scoopz alone.
To add, months back on Ezra Koenig's Apple Radio show Time Crisis (100% recommend btw) Ezra mentioned how they were offered to play a bunch of big festivals but declined because they wanted to focus on more venues in 2019 and then do a bigger run of festivals in 2020. The real question now is, Saturday or Sunday?
