Really dropped the ball not announcing reclassification on 4/20. They really needed the ten extra days? It could’ve been the rare good policy people actually learn about!

Look, I'm voting Biden if he makes it to November. I really can't imagine more Trump reign but this point is important.
You can't keep using the "vote blue or bad things will happen" when you're sending armies of police to go beat student protestors. The footage I've seen is literally the type of response you'd expect when these fucking neo Nazis go marching around and threatening people but no....it's the unarmed students who likely won't fight back and we know are unarmed....that's who we should strongarm.

So sick of this shit
Should also be added that a group of House Dems sent a letter to the board of trustees the day before asking for the camp to be removed. Regardless if this had anything to do with timing, lots of Dems were totally fine with this outcome.

Eric Adams is a piece of shit...but our other alternative in the general election was this guy:
The real failure was that we couldn't get Maya Wiley or Kathryn Garcia nominated in the primary.

"We should all agree: The answer is not to defund the police. The answer is to fund the police."

Sending in snipers and hordes of heavily-armed men to beat and arrest kids protesting Biden's mass extermination of Muslims is def gonna help with the youth vote come November.

Like, yeah, Genocide Joe and all that, but Trump was asked about this situation on Fox News and, in the midst of a total vomit of word salad that meant nothing, the clearest thing you could take away from it was that he thought we're not currently supporting Israel enough.

It's been evident for a long time, that the establishment media wants Trump back for the ratings. Moderate Dems are chasing center-right voters that won't vote Democrat anyway. Anyone to the left of Liz Warren is expendable and basically unwanted.

I fucking hate the way the student protests are being talked about and handled by politicians and police and support the protesters fully, but maybe push the breaks a little bit on how much they'll affect the election. At least as of mid-March, a large (2k sample of under-30 year olds) poll showed Israel/Palestine as almost the least important issue in the election. Even among that group, which SEEMS the most fired up, it was the 15th most important issue out of 16. In a separate poll, only 14% of people under 50 said they were following the war extremely or very closely.
Maybe these protests and their response will have more of an impact, but I'm dubious, and could easily imagine the police response actually being a net-positive for Dems, given the alternative is the GOP/Trump, which I think still gets more association with police breaking up protests (even if many dems support the police action).

I think the biggest concern is that the margins are razor-thin in enough states that it'd make a material difference in the electoral college if a chunk of people Democrats can usually count on decide to stay home.

I wouldn't be surprised if we have significantly less people voting this year as compared to 2020.
I wouldn't be surprised if we have a jump in the percentage of votes going to third party candidates.
I wouldn't be surprised if we get zero debates this year.
I wouldn't be surprised if a significant chunk of voters are so non-committal to one candidate or the other that they literally make their mind up the week of the election based on how things are going at that very moment.

Depending on the definition of “significant,” I’d be surprised if any of those things *aren’t* the case. 2024 was a ridiculous turnout year. There’s a much more notable third party candidate than there’s been since Perot. Trump has no interest in a debate and might have trouble even scheduling one. And a substantial number of people “make up their minds” the week of the election every year (though I would argue these are people who already lean one way or the other and it’s more about making up their mind whether to vote at all).

think u are right on 3 the rest wrong
If I'm wrong about 4, it's because those undecided people didn't vote at all.
I can't imagine a scenario in which more people show up in 2024 than 2020. The pro-Trump and anti-Trump sentiments were at astronomical levels that won't be reached again. Most people don't even want to pay attention to the election anymore. They don't see the point in it.
