survivor/ranked choice voting? (harder to gauge small differences when theyre not h2h, doesn't have to be a specifc number of entries) bracket? (seeding can get messy, but quicker)
survivor seems like it would work the best, and could be set up to have top half move on like it would in a bracket.
not sure how many to really put in, it's really easy to get numbers just putting the last 10 Roos, Coaches, Lollas, ACLs, Glastos, and then filling it in with other international ones and newer/smaller fests. but i also know not all of the last 10 of those are 'best of' status, so we can just go through some nominations and then see where we end up.
My votes always go to ATP for the teens. They were all incredible. Portishead x2, My Bloody Valentine, the return of Jeff Mangum, EPMD, Frank Ocean playing to like 200 people, but my favorite was this:

Without doing any prior research whatsoever, I'd like to nominate FYF 2017 because on the entire lineup I could probably count the number of artists I'm not interested in on one hand:
Glastonbury '15 stands out of the post 2014 ones for me. Ye, spiritualized, Motorhead, Jamie xx, Caribou, hotchip, mothership, suede, the fall, Patti, fka, chems, FES, SFA

Id like coach 10 and 13 to instantly be included along with Bonnaroo 13 and 14. I thank there was a crazy Outside Lands lineup very early in the decade.
ACL 18 should be in the bracket. Probably every Primavera.

Also, that FYF with Missy and Tribe that was posted above.
For a single day of a genre fest, this Saturday probably takes the cake for me. I think my line was Mountain Man - Jon Hopkins - School of Seven Bells - Caribou - Theivery Coorporation - Jonsi - Massive Attack, Dam-Funk. I think I missed Four tet, Matmos and Emeralds and maybe one of these early ones listed. It was definitely one of my favorite days of music ever.
imo in the discussion ACL 2019 (Stacked, good mix of things, most left field acts theyve had) ACL 2018 (great top 2, hurt by gambinos drop, but wayne/phoenix were solid replacements, and travis is headlining things now, its crazy deftones headlines euro festivals to me, disturbed was a shocker) ACL 2016 (Radiohead, LCD, Kendrick, M83, also kygo, chainsmokers, major lazer. poster drops off about half way, saved by lizzo/dacus/khruangbin who all probably played at like noon to 1, but hard to veto a head/kendrick/lcd bill) 2013 (before my time, got rained out, but looks good on paper. pretty top heavy, but has some mega headliners on top of people who would headline smaller fests like pitchfork) 2011 (as opposed to 2012 this one immediately jumped out, super top heavy, but still has a fair amount of stuff id see down the line) 2012 (idk, gut says no, even with neil. bookended by two ass headliners, and the 2nd line is fine and a little redundant. its decently deep, it has Iggy and the stooges, roots)
probably out ACL 2017 (Jay Z, Gorillaz, Bonobo, nothing super rare, ryan adams AND crystal castles) ACL 2015 (solid, decent headliner crop, possibly best thing about this year was deadmau5 and disclosure did late nights, brand new AND borns) 2014 (first one i went to, ok, outkast, but a bunch of fests got outkast that were probably overall better. outkast/beck, eminem/skrillex, pearl jam/calvin harris were the headliner choices which were rough. i think if you put beck during eminem it would have been a little better, lana played in the middle of the day, lorde was one of the few exclusives to a weekend) 2010 (idk where to put it. eagles (seems like a rare fest get not sure if all members where there but odds are ok since theyre all alive), muse/mia/flips/strokes all sound much more appealing in 2010, not sure what state phish was in in 2010 with trey's issues or even if he was fine what kind of set time it was, im sure they still had the hard cutoff), but still a little underwhelmed from a personal stand point. theres a lot to like in the middle though, and then it drops off kind of steep.)
how does everyone look at cancellations for something like this? no particular artist but its happened a handful of times to me for various reasons some before/during the fest. if someone cancels because of rain the day of is that different than someone cancelling a week before for health? does meg the stallion even count for acl 2019 if she was a one weekend exclusive and then skipped her own set?
was reading this article on Bran for Rolling Stone and then realized it was a thing. Lionel Richie slayin' in 2014.
Brann Dailor (Mastodon) - The best live show I saw in the 2010s was: Lionel Richie at Bonnaroo [in 2014]. He blew me away. He was so good and so funny in between songs. I was like, “Wow. This guy’s got a shtick.” He kept having this person bringing over these wine glasses with strange-colored liquids in them and he would take a drink out of it and spit it out. He had this whole show within a show going on.
Laura Jane Grace (Against Me) - The best live show I saw in the 2010s was: Hands down, Grace Jones at Primavera Sound in 2017. That show was absolutely mind-blowing. She was wearing this blonde pony mane wig, and, at one point, rode her security guard’s shoulders through the crowd of 10,000 people and then hula-hooped for at least a song straight. It was unreal. I’ve never seen a performance like that. Confetti everywhere. An overwhelming amount of confetti. Tim Heidecker (Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!) - The best live show I saw in the 2010s was: Roger Waters’ The Wall
Wayne Coyne (Flips) - The best live show I saw in the 2010s was: I’m trying to remember all of them. If you have to struggle too hard to remember it, how great could have been? But I’m going to say Coldplay [in 2016]....Chris Martin is such a sweet, thoughtful guy, and he gave me a cool book and all this stuff.
Mon Laferte - The best live show I saw was: Paul McCartney! (lol this was also good, The most “2010” moment of the 2010s was: Seeing Tame Impala at Coachella)
Miranda Lambert - The best live show I saw was: U2
?uestlove (The Roots) - The best live shows I saw in the 2010s were:
5. D’Angelo & the Vanguard tour (2015)
4. Prince’s Welcome 2 America (2011)
3. Beyonce at Coachella (streamed) (2018)
2. Solange at the Guggenheim (2017)
1. The Roots/Outkast/Lionel Ritchie at Life Is Beautiful (2014)—–dream lineup right? NAH!!!!!! Lionel Ritchie took names and KICKED ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He took to the stage like Freddie Mercury at Live Aid — did not see this coming at all. He showed us whippersnappers how it’s DONE lol. Mark Hoppus (Blink 182) - The best live show I saw in the 2010s was: Twenty One Pilots. It’s amazing how much happens onstage with just two people. (color me shocked)
Adam Lambert (Queen) - The best live show I saw in the 2010s was: A couple of Lady Gaga concerts that were pretty bananas. Such a good performer and her showmanship and her commitment to the performance is always really inspiring.

By far the best lineup of the decade. This was before EDM really took over the last decade. There will be nothing as special as this ever again. The only thing that compares is maybe Roo 2013 or The 2 Rothburys
