Who's someone you really want to drop some new material? Someone that hasn't released new music (album, not singles) in a while and doesn't have an upcoming album on the horizon that you know of. I'll list a few below. If I'm missing an upcoming album date for any, let me know.
Julien Baker Yeah Yeah Yeahs Zola Jesus Sia The Temper Trap The War on Drugs
Yeah Sia's definitely overdue. So are Jamie xx and Sylvan Esso. Iron & Wine is past his prime but I'd like to see some solo stuff from him without Ben Bridwell or Calexico. Expecting new Kendrick, Frank, and Lorde this year.
And just for the fuck of it let's get some new Radiohead and Daft Punk.

Feel like this is the year of knocking a few of my big ones off the list with Tame Impala, Grimes, Caribou, Run The Jewels, Jay Electronica... not all of them went as I had hoped, but at least they happened I guess.

Fiona Apple (which we're getting shortly!!), Portishead, a proper Sufjan album, D'Angelo, Kendrick, LCD would be cool, Vince Staples is overdue, Beyonce, Run the Jewels (also coming up)
The Hotelier. they're more or less inactive because Christian hates the music industry and became disillusioned with it but I hope they return at some point.
Guns N' Roses. They reunited years ago and have been touring constantly. How is it that there's no new music on the horizon?
You really want to listen to that?
Use Your Illusion I & II would have been an excellent single album. I'm curious to hear what a follow up album of new material would sound like, yes. They were in pretty excellent form when I saw them two years ago.

I'd love some solo Iron & Wine. I didn't really dig the collab with Calexico but I did enjoy his last album Beast Epic.

Cosign. I know it was a LONG time ago but the last time Alx & Slash made new material (UYI 1 & 2) it was great. I'm not sure if they have it in them anymore (more so Axl than Slash) but who knows. Also i didn't think Chinese Democracy was THAT bad.

Chinese Democracy was way over produced. Axl needs a really strong producer to reign him in.

Tbh I wouldn't be surprised if their reunion was more about a cash grab to get what they could on tour with no intention of making new music. But idk.
Really hope Arcade Fire comes through with a back-to-basics sort of comeback album, I like Reflektor more than most on the board probably do but EN was a definite misfire. Not saying it has to be, like, Funeral 2... but if it were I wouldn't be too mad

There was what, almost a 5 year gap between Pure Heroine and Melodrama? Lorde might not be back for a little longer.
I really hope Arcade Fire comes with something better than Everything Now. That was bad.
She's said in a few interviews that she's working on a follow up and that this year "has been very productive." I expect something from her at the end of this year or early next.
