Hello all, Im new to this board (and to Bonnaroo). Im flying into Nashville airport and planning on talking the shuttle bus to Bonnaroo. My problem is.....How does everyone get cases of beer? The shuttle makes no stops, I cant fly with 3 cases! How do you all who fly down do it?
In my experience I never end up drinking half the beer I bring. I don't spend enough time at my tent to drink it and I never want to end up peeing during all the shoes. I'm usually on something else most of the time too. If you only plan on drinking then I would recommend getting a lot beer. Once your in Bonnaroo you can always leave and come back. there has to be a store with beer within walking distance.
If you're considering three cases for personal consumption, you might want to re-think that a little....
- the heat is killer. Last year on Fri afternoon, two different people standing near me had heat strokes. - You'll be spending most of your time in Centeroo where the music stages are and they won't let you bring any alcohol thru the gates. - This ain't just a show, it's a music marathon, going strong from noon 'til 3 or 4 am. I saw so many people passed out or puking, missing good music.
We brought a sh!tload of beer last year and wound up taking most of it back home because we drank mostly water and soda until evening... -JBJ (sorry if this sounded like some kind of public service announcement - just want everyone to have a good 'roo!)
Hey thanks for all your info, its helpfull. But...Lets just say for example...Heat dosnt bother me, dont need much sleep..and I often get very very thirst.
Sounds like lots of prople bring beer and dont drink it all. Will good peeps be selling cold ones? Have you all seen the buck a beer cats? I know I shouldnt worrie and that everything I need will fall into place, but I minght have a little problem with the beers..
The "buckabeer" cat are indeed out there, as were folks selling (warm) cases at cost on their way out. Treeofjazz, my man, you've no idea just how fcking hot that Tennessee sun is; we chugged three cases -- of water. The case of beer we thought we'd blow through the first night lasted 4 days (we even brought a six home). Not that we didn't have plenty of beers; but we drank 'em from the buckabeers and in Centeroo. Save the room in your bags for sunbloch and a big dorky hat, cause you're gonna fry; that is until it rains (and it rains pretty much every day that time of year there.

I never thought I would sound like my mother, but here goes... this will be my 3rd Bonnaroo. You can buy beer on Shakedown as cheap as you can buy it in a store and you don't have to lug it around. Good, cold beer too. Plan on spending $5 a tallboy once you're in the shows. There's no way around it, even the water and tea are expensive. But beware! If you think the sun doesn't bother you, you need to go to Louisianna and stand in a field for 4 days right now. That's what Manchester is like in June. I suggest a floppy hat, a camelback and a big ass tarp to hide under when the Tennessee sun kicks your ass. It will happen. I say Roo is a lot like childbirth, you swear you'll never do it again, then you forget the pain.

"Seek the shade" ....for some shows there ain't no shade. Make sure you wear a hat and bring some sunscreen. For the newbies check you can see some of last years Bonnaroo photos at my website www.larrysafko.com Drink plenty of water, it will not only be hot, but HUMID. Some afternoons the air is so thick you think you can chew it. And if it rains again....sometimes there is no where to go...you just have to suck it up and get wet. Larry
