Ok guys heres the thing. i was going to leave early wed. day from Pa, a 15 hr drive, to get there some time early thur. morning. then i just found out the girl that is going with me is working wed night. shes a bartender, and is tight on cash and can t give up that shift, with giving up the whole weekend and all. so now we are push to leave at 3 am right when shes done or do we wait b/c were not leaving at a good time anyway and leave like 7 to 8 am thuresday morning ????
leave at 3 am get there= 5pm leave at 8 am get there= 11pm
i was trying to see the postive out of this and i came up with this. i would compromise a good close camping area and early arrival FOR no muti hour car line wait. i can take an hour or 2. so when does the car line die down a bit ? just trying to asset the situation i am in. any advice would be aperciated.
Personally I would leave at 3 am. From my experience and reading what others have said the real heavy traffic doesn't seem to start until late thursday/all day friday. You will be a lot more rested and relaxed if you set up camp sometime on thursday. You could always go to sleep early wed. evening and then take the first driving shift at 3 when your friend gets out of work. Also, where in PA are you coming from that it takes 15 hours? I leave from Upstate NY and it only takes me like 11 or 12 hours with stops.
