I am trying to plan my route from Columbus, OH and I want to know where I can find a good map of the entrances to the festival. It will be my first year (finally!) so I am not sure what goes on.
Anyone have a map or any advice for where and what entrance to get in line for. I should arrive early thursday about 4am.
I am patient but waiting in a car for more then 2 hours will cause me to lose it.
4 a.m. thursday.. you'll be set. you won't have to wait that long at all, but they won't open the gates until early thurs. morning... like 6, 7 or 8 a.m., i'd say. 2 hours is nothing in the car... there will be friendly folks there with you. make friends. it'll be nice when you're in side. just use the directions you received with your ticket.
Well, I'll probably see you on the road or in line. We are coming down Wednesday night from Central Illinois. Probably be getting in line around the same time.
We come from knoxville and have found that approaching Manchester from the north cuts down on the wait time (at least it did for us) We come in on HWY 111 South (it turns into HWY 55 somewhere along the way. This brings you into Manchester to the Gas station opposite the I24 West fiasco that almost always occurs.
Last year we were in line at midnight on Weds. night and they were already letting people in. Just a little FYI -- might be worth trying. Bushy Branch road (which is the road that lets you in) curves around but runs parallel to the interstate. If they aren't letting people in, you don't have to turn around, just drive straight and it will drop you at the Southbound exit (like a big circle...does that make any sense?)
That's where we were last year and our spot was Great! It was only about a 15 min. walk to the stages. We also looked at it possitivly that the main foot traffic wasn't going through all our stuff. We're trying to decide when to get in line this year. We have an rv and are concerned about where they're going to divide everyone up to.
