I just talked to the folks at Bonnaroo, there's going to be a camping only area again this year. They wouldn't confirm that it would be in the same spot (right outside of centeroo), but it probably will be. As far as filling up... it doesn't. Considering how stinking close it is to the action, I don't understand why there isn't a mad rush to get there. I've camped there the last 2 years, absolutley perfect (except for the hauling all your junk there the first day). Honestly, I couldn't imagine not camping there, you're (literally) 3 minutes from centeroo and camping with some reallly fine folks. Just my $0.02

Its pretty sad that out of 80k people so many of them are too lazy to haul stuff from and to their car twice for a prime spot. With that said, i didnt , and prolly wont do it this year, unless the walk from centeroos really bad. I actually like the 15-20 minute walk, theres always stuff to entertain on the way.

this is so true...half of the fun i think was def teh walk to and from centeroo...even when i was lost for ltos of time i was still having fun....later

we passed on camping only because we didnt want rain and then people cutting through the area to get back to there sites and in the process killing the camp only area with mud. But last year it didnt really rain.
I do like being next to the car. Makes me feel safe! lol
What do you mean it didn't really rain? That it never rained hard? Did it just not muddy up the camping area? I stayed in a hotel, so I don't know how the rain affected camping, but I do remember rain. (Although, not anything like the rain in '04, just constant drizzle last year).

it only rained during the Jack Johnson set for about an hour. Thats it. There wasn't much drizzle either...not sure how far you were in the hotel but yeah only that one time with rain. Maybe it was only raining at your hotel...I don't think I am crazy...can anyone else back me up with the no rain?

Last year i definatly remember it raining during mars volta, because i had to uhh cool down.....haha. It really wasnt that bad though, and i didnt notice any muddy camp sites.
I totally remember rain, specifically during Allman Bros. Also plenty of mud, doncha remember all the people wearing those plastic clogs that some brilliant vendor was selling? The number of shoes of all kinds in front of that vendor was hilarious, esp since lots of them were singles! (Wear sandels with ankles straps to avoid the mud taking your shoes prisoner.)
I think the reason most people people wouldn't camp in the camping only section is you don't want all of Bonnaroo walking past your front door. I was in Sloane Peterson last year and that rope fence they had around the camping section wasn't all that effective. Surprisingly.

guess i didn't notice the rain...thats weird. Now that you mention it I do remember the rain during mars volta cause I was right on the edge and it was blowing on me and it felt goooood. Funny how you forget things till months later.
The clogs are called crocks or something like that. The independent radio station in columbus used to advertise the hell out of those things. People do love um.
