There are expensive showers at 'Roo, or at least there were last year. Bring baby wipes and deodorant and you should be fine for the weekend though. Everyone else will be dirty too
I myself don't really mind...But the ladies i'll be with do!
I think I may have read something on here about the locals letting you take a shower for a small fee, is that true? How much does a shower cost at the Roo?
You can get a shower at Roo if you want to pay $5.00 and stand in line for about 30 minutes. The showers were kinda cold, but it did not matter and the lines looked really long at some periods of the day. The first year we went we did the shower thing and it was just fine with us, but last year we brought a portable gas shower and made a shower stall and had hot showers all week. It was worth it but our shower stall was not made that good last year. This year we are buying a portable shower stall. So if you dont think $5.00 is too much and dont mind waiting in line then get a shower there at least once.

ive found that if ya just go to the water trough things that are by most of the porta potty areas you can get plenty clean right there with soap, a cup, and some towels...if ya dont mind doin it in front of everyone, but noone cares anyways its bonnaroo.. also those coleman shower wipes are pretty sweet.. they sell them at walmart and most stores in the camping section...they were really nice for after it gets dark and ya change into something for the night.... there is alot to be said for getting out of your day clothes and wipin off all that funk, those towel showers work great
yea...gotta live with the dirt....i wouldn't be able to handle going to something like this with people who can't stand a little dirt...leave them at home
I have long hair and washed it Wednesday morning before the 11-hour drive to Roo. I kept it in a braid the whole time. Each morning I would 'wash' with wet-ones, brush out the braid and re-braid it. It was still clean and wet from Wednesday's shower on the drive home Sunday.
However, my friend that I went with did take a shower at the Roo and said the water smelled like ass and, therefore, so did her hair the rest of the weekend.
The water on the farm is well water. After so many days and a lot of water useage, the well starts to bring up icky water. There's a lot of sulfer in it.
Now, on the whole other side of the spectrum, there were two girly-girls camped next to us. They took showers everyday with bottled water they brought. And, yes, to our surprise, they even shaved their legs at the camp.
hey skankinitslow. yeah, the 'no rinse body wash' stuff actually does work. i am a nurse. this is the stuff that we use to wash patients. we use it as shampoo and body wash on even super dirty patients (and their actually sparkling clean afterwards!). it works wonders! one word of caution - it leaves the hair with knots. if you have fine/long hair you may need to use a conditioner after using this as a shampoo.
I also braided my hair, but I waited until after the first day there and tied a scarf around. It worked really well and I didn't feel dirty at all. Baby wipes, spray deodorant, maybe some body splash and I'm good to go for the day. I can't even imagine the thought of shaving my legs at roo! Such a waste of good time But I did use bottled water to brush my teeth.
If I got my period I don't know what I'd do... cry probably!... Then I'd get a little extra f'ed up and be fine ;D Thank goodness for baby wipes

My cousin said she used No Rinse Shampoo during bootcamp. She said it works wonderful and leaves the hair feeling super soft. She did suggest a leave in conditioner as well though. That and baby wipes seems like a good enough shower for me.
