I was looking on amazon and ebay for something -- anything -- to keep me cool during the 'roo. i'm a pretty hairy dude and i tend to overheat easily. i saw that there's plenty of evaporative cooling bandanas and vests available. they're stuffed with an absorbant polymer that traps water and keeps you relatively comfy for 2 hours or so. do any of you veteran 'rooers know if/how well they work? thanks!
Just do what the swimmers do and shave everywhere the goggles don't cover. Kidding. As for the vests they work fine, but so does any shirt that fits close to the skin. Also if you wear the vest under a shirt it won't work well because air flow won't evaporate the water quickly and so no heat loss.
