RHCP - 40% Probably gonna pit, will be buzzed, a few friends and this will be a great time.
The Mars Volta - 15% Late night, consistent band
Mdou Moctar - 15% I’m a big guitar guy and I love their sound. Could see this blowing me away.
Jason Isbell - 15% Lots of really beautiful songs and plan to pit for what will be the last set of my weekend
Brittany Howard - 10% Timing is ass but still a good enough performer to have a fighting chance
Parcels - 5% Coming off a long day of pitting for da peppas, I don’t think I’m gonna have it in me to immediately full send this
lol I kinda wanna try and get pit for Peppas too. I think PL should be 1% due to the fact they do have a guitar in the band.
we should get a group for da peppa pit
In 2017, that was absolute nightmare. A bunch of people who didn’t get in for Chance cut in and it was a mini crowd crush. They had two bodyguards stand at the front and you had to squeeze through them to get in.

I'm game, I'd like to pit for them and Isbell, haven't had a Roo pit experience yet.

So down, I think we will end up seeing CTE so we will already be at The What. Also how could all those newly converted Christians cut the line like that. WWJD!

We’re gonna be so close that we can see Flea’s balls under his skirt

I wonder if his dick looks bigger in person than on that Woodstock doc

Its much easier than you might think. I walked right into the pit for literally every set I saw at Which or What in 2022 except for Stevie Nicks. I suspect it will be just as easy this year.

Just popping by to say — even as someone who is not a giant EDM fan — Alison Wonderland must be their biggest artist addition since last decade? Kind of odd this dropped on a random Friday? Surprised it’s not a bigger deal, but I admittedly don’t have a good feel for the EDM scene and whether this kind of addition matters, or whether it’s just an “oh, cool.”
I remember when they would more routinely do some late adds in the 2010s, generally indie-adjacent stuff that was peaking or on the rise - Santigold, Solange, Empire of the Sun, maybe Kacey Musgraves too, I’m sure there are more. A few of those adds excited me and hyped up our groups. I know the festival world has changed a lot since then, just seems like a somewhat muted reaction. I guess this was billed as a surprise to expect, rather than something out of the blue, so expectations got too big?

it's mostly that she's already on the lineup - Whyte Fang is a project she started a few years back
Looks like I will be at Roo in some form after all! We found a cheap flight to Nashville so we are going to make a weekend in the city and then send Sunday at Roo.
Armand Hammer > The Beaches > TSHA/Chapell/BBNG > CRJ/Four Tet > MTS > Isbell > Fred > AW WITW
The TSHA/Chappell/BBNG conflict is so tough. Will probably start at TSHA since she goes on first. Chapell will have a crazy crowd in the tent so I’m guessing we skip and go to BBNG. CRJ vs. Four Tet will be a game time decision.
We have a 5:45 AM flight so the plan will be to leave sometime during/after AW’s WITW set. If all goes well we are back in Charlotte by 8:00 AM and have the full day to recoup.

My issue is that I have to leave Sunday night. Even Fred Again is going to be a struggle to get through, Alison will be playing while i’m 45 min away sleeping at a friend’s house

Saw them do Pea once in 2000 at Jones Beach. It was awesome!!!! They also did Soul To Squeeze which I wasn’t expecting. Would be dope to get those at Roo but I kinda doubt it.
So Fred Again is posting from EDC at the same time that Roo is running an ad campaign promoting his Roo set as his only US festival. This could get awkward.

People are mistaken about only being able to see Fred Again once this year, they're only able to buy tickets once this year. Nothing says he can't do a surprise performance that isn't advertised to sell tickets.
random bedtime thought. i can see brittany howard joining joe russo’s almost dead for a few songs. jrad is on friday and brittany is on saturday but if she’s on site on friday i think she’ll collab. bustle in your hedgerow played late night in 2013 and she came out and covered darlene and the lemon song with them. bustle in your hedgerow was a led zeppelin cover band that was sort of the impetus for jrad forming so idk if she’ll cover zep or the dead but i’m cool with either
