Ah yes, another memory to add to my Bonnaroo experience.
I remember a fest years ago where I navigated back to camp following a nearby camp that had the balloon with the strobe - it works. If you can find fake flowers that have a light in them they make a good 'ground' / local marker. I've also gone to discount stores looking for blow up and hard plastic characters. I put some cheap LED flashlight inside and get a reasonable beacon to use back to the site. You can also put these on the hood / roof of your vehicle. Just another option. You can have a lot of fun if you start thinking of plastic toys lit up vs. flags. However, you can also put a few led lights into your flag material (Radio Shack is your friend) and have a beacon that works 24/7.
