Alright, so I'm going to be staying in the Tent Only area. Since I won't have my car nearby to help rig up tarps over my tent to slow down the early morning slow bake, what's a good way to rig some tarps up?
Last year we had a similair canopy set up and we fastened a tarp to one side of it and staked it down to the ground making sort of a lean to, giving extra shelter from the sun and rain. Then set our tents up close to the other 3 sides and spread a blanket out in the center. I even slept under the lean to thing 2 out of 3 nights... much cooler than the tent.
Are EZ-ups really that much better? (Withstanding wind, rain, etc.) Cause I found one for $100 and I'm trying to decide if it's worth the investment... Thanks in advance for any advice

Ours worked really well last year, we got it at target for about 50 bucks i think - this is a pic of it but you cant really see much from it cuz its at night - i can find out from my brother what the company is...
Cool thanks I've actually seen ones like that at Target, if it worked well maybe I'll get one of those instead since it's cheaper. Mine was way cheap and was a piece of crap that fell down every day, so I need a new one!
ya you see those strings that are sticking out of it on the sides near the fire? those are what i think make it stay in place really well
yeah i did that too - without the rope it wouldn't have held up the few hours that it did each day! i just had a super, super crappy canopy without a good structure (in my defense the picture online was too small to realize how the set-up would be).

We've been using a screen room and putting our tents inside it along with our coolers, chairs and all our other crap. Great protection from the sun and when it rained we put up blue traps on the inside with spring clamps. Home, sweet home...

Looks pretty comfortable. My shade tent thing fell down in the rain last year, from water forming a pool on top. I think we are going to duct tape some sticks to it so there are no areas for water collection up top. That is my idea at least. If anyone can think of anything better than sticks, feel free to offer your opinion.
