Ok, me and my friends are wanting to go chop some tress down.... GASSSSSP lol.....and build a teepee. Ive looked online and it doesnt look that hard. So heres the questions.
1. anybody ever took one to a festival 2. was it a pain 3. cost 4. materials you used
It was VERY hard, required a bunch of 13 year olds (although that may have contributed to the problem), and took up a large footprint. Getting the tarp to hang taut was the hardest part, but if you're not looking for a waterproof structure that isn't an issue.
Never taken one to a festival - I prefer ripstop nylon made from the charred corpses of dinosaurs.
Not sure about the cost, but materials were a very heavy canvas tarp, about 12 18ft poles and a bunch of rope.

I'm with Cowboy on that one, you'll want to be doing plenty of other things at 'Roo besides futzing with a teepee. They look really cool but just aren't worth the effort at a festival.

Thanks for any help.
I've never built a teepee, but there's a group that camps in a teepee every year at coachella. I overheard some girls say 'yeah we were totally partying in the teepee last nite' so I guess a teepee is a chick magnet!. Maybe I could get a close look at it in 3 weeks when I'm there and get the lowdown for you...

I used a tent last year, I just wanted to spice things up a bit this year. Im not stupid in the fact I would definitely take a back-up tent. And yea, Id feel like a real shithead if it did fall and damage someones tent so I probably wont. Cali has the good weather, hear in Kentucky and Tennesee we are gettin blown away lol.
