Im going gear/supplies shopping on monday and it should be my last shop aside from some last minute stuff before i go.... Gunna get all my food, some north face sport sandals(water friendly and i have plenty of time to break em in) a pack cover in case i have to hoof it in during the pouring rain, gas for my stove, some lightweight camp towels and some tarps for whatever.... Im also bidding on a NICE shade tent that i can pitch my one man underneath and hopefully will get to "sleep in" a bit.... My tent is like 90% mesh without the rainfly so if i pitch it under the shade tent it will nice and cool, like sleeping outside in the shade... There will be some extra room under my new rig (14x14 feet of shade) peeps are more than welcome to share the space.... See ya in tent only...
I took an old wallet and have been putting some bills in it every time I come back from going out or after an ATM trip. I just counted the other day and I've stashed just over $200 since March. I just counted out the change in my change jar and will be adding another $76! The little bit at a time for purchasing supplies and stashing money seems to be working, cause I don't want to worry about the cost of the fest, I just want to have a great time.
Well, I've been drinking a lot lately...I'm all about the "Buffalo Theory" when it comes to drinking.
buffalo theory? do tell
Drinking is much like a predator hunting buffalo. During a buffalo hunt, the weakest ones in the herd fall behind and get killed, thereby making the herd as a whole stronger. Same thing with alcohol...It kills brain cells, but only the weak ones you don't need, so it strengthens the rest of them. So yes, excessive amounts of drinking will actually increase your brain power.
I put away my income tax money that i got back this year for roo expenses(about $1100)....has anyone else done this? Seems like the perfect thing to spend my hard earned cash on!!!
checked, updated and printed off my old check-list. debating whether or not to scrape last year's mud off of my reliable 'roo footwear. voluntary sleep deprivation (got an infant in my house - no sleep is old hat, here). and an intensive refresher course in recreational chemistry.
the most serious thing i need to do is get Lewis, my trusty travelling companion, in for some maintenance before we hit the highways.
