Does anyone have any great/unique ideas to avoid the heat? Specifically in the tent in the morning; that has twice been my least favourite part of bonnaroo, you go to bed at like 4 so you wanna sleep till noon but your tent turns into an oven!
Someone must have a solution for this... i considered maybe figuring out a way to attach the ten to the car's A/C but this seems a little drastic, someone must have a better idea!

feeell feeelll feeel the heat!
no seriously though, take a cold bottle of water into your tent, place it between your legs and under your sack (if your a dude) and take a little nap, it cools your whole body down. somthing about your balls regulating your body temperature.....same thing with your neck and feet. hope that helps. also wearing as little as possible helps alot, theres lots of ways to cool down. you will see.
I found the best way was to get a cot type thing and lay on it outside where you can get some air flow. Then you could do like localoutdororganic said and put water bottles in those specific places. I napped in the cinema tent when i wanted good sleep.
yep the cinema tent is the spot for comfortable sleeping. and when ya do get up feeling all cool and refreshed your right near everything. that first step out into the furnace can be rough though.
If, at 4 AM you don't think it is going to pour before 12 remove your rain fly, or at least the part that won't let in the driving morning sun. I second the idea that you have some sort of sleeping matt, or inflatable mattress. Third, pack some ice packs in your 5 day cooler (the kind you can freeze over and over). At 4 AM remove one pack and place in a six pack type cooler in your tent. At 7:45 AM pee, take ice pack, wrap in sheet or towel, cuddle with it and go back to sleep. This will probably get you sleep until 10.... I'm also a fan of chilled neck wraps. They really help cool the body down.
chilled neck wraps sound good... so does everything really, thanks all... but i was really hoping for some crazier ideas, like using the car's A/C, or maybe some sort of freezable gel pack mattress...
though either way i'm getting a tent fan, so thanks...

I already bought a battery operated fan, Tell me if you think im crazy, Thought about taking a cardboard box lining it with plastic putting a bunch of frozen water bottles in the box and sucking the air through it. I know Ill have to have a boatload of waters (wife thinks im insane) It would be so easy to do if it doesnt work ,oh well stiill gotta fan
maybe i should put dry ice in box

spray bottles are crucial, also make sure you fill it with your own water and not the sulfer water, nobody likes getting sprayed with sufler water, get a good one too, the cheap ones jam up a lot or, just get a lot of 99 cent ones, their good for the four or three days you will use the at the roo, also try not to drink so much alcohol that will dehydrate you even faster in the sun. Also a good idea is lots and lots of tarps, but them all over you camp site to give you maximum shade it will also take some of the heat away in the early moring if you have a double layer of tarping all above your campsite.
I had a cotton scarf-looking thingy (a bandana would work too) and soaking it in the ice cold cooler water and tyihng it around my head before I headed into the heat each morning cooled down my head and neck alot.
I really didn't think the heat was that bad... I must have been in a breezy spot?... or maybe it's just cause us Jersey girls are tough ;D
i would soak my hat with icy cooler water then put some ice cubes in it and put it on. it works for about 10 minutes. but it can help you ease into a long hot walk to centeroo
Kelty sells a off white colored tent avail. @ Campmoor. Make sure you ask what color it is if you order it. Dark colored tents absorb the sun. Also cold water or ice on the wrists will cool you down.
The Sharper Image sells a contraption that is essentially like wrapping a cold towel around your neck, except its supposed to last longer.
companies sell airconditioned tents for about $1000.
a cot in your tent will keep you cooler.
buy as many tent fans as you can get your hands on.
placing a box (cooler?) with water bottles in the tent ner the fan would probably work better than just a fan. i like that idea. im not sure about the dry ice. i know it can be dangerous so i stay away from it. especially when at bonnaroo.
spray bottles and misters are very clutch. everyone should bring at least one for themselves. and stash it in the cooler when its not in use to keep the water frosty.
i really like the cold waterbottle-in-the-crotch tactic. i will def give that one a shot. also, if you are incredibly hot dunk a clean tee shirt in the cooler and throw it on. its soooo awesome. and it keeps you chillin for almost an hour.
and as far as hooking your cars a/c up to your tent - i say to just take a nap in the car. for anyone who hasnt been: dont plan on sleeping much at roo in general. just take power naps to recharge your batteries. i know it sounds like it sucks, but you wont care when your there. trust me, im big on sleep, but you dont need much at the roo. you can sleep the other 360 days out of the year.
maybe i could get an inflatable kiddie pool and hope to camp near one of the water stations... then you could just drag it undre your tarp, drop a boatload of ice in there, get the fan pointing at you, etc...
