Looks like an okay tent for the money. Good enough for campground use but not good for backpacking because of the weight (20 lbs would kill ya). Unless you are keeping all your gear in the car, putting six people inside is not gonna happen either. Whatever you decide on, practice putting it up at home a couple of times because you are not going to be wanting to figure it out in 90 degree heat standing in the middle of a hayfield come June...

Coleman gear in general is pretty crappy quality. But I say this coming from a backpacking perspective and for something like a music festival all you really need is a shelter and a sleeping bag. Chances are your gear will get pretty dirty so why screw up any nice equipment. Just make sure you have a nice footprint to put under the tent to keep the rain water from seeping through the bottom.

In my opinion Coleman gear is very good quality. I bought the same tent last year except it was a different color. The only problem I had was the rainflap poles were easy to break. The poles made the rainflap stick out a little instead of just laying on the tent. With that on I was able to open the windows while it was raining and no water came inside. I was very impressed. When it come to tents you get what you pay for.

Coleman gear is OK... If you want something that will take years and years of abuse i would suggest buying something better and it will probably be more expensive... IF you just need a tent for the roo', car camping or just one or twice a year, i'd say a coleman tent would be fine... You do get what you pay for and Coleman is kind of on the lower end of things, midrange quality at best...
Thanks, I'll prob just get it then... I'm not much of a camper and its only gonna be for roo anyway. There is a small possibility that it will be used again this summer but definitely not anymore than that.
can you give me some details on how you waterproof your tent? I have used my tent about 2 dozen times for festivals/camping/etc but I have never waterproofed it.
there's this stuff you can buy at outdoor sporting stores.. I can't exactly remember the name, but it's like ths pomade type stuff that you smear and rub into the seams of your tent (usualy this is the only place you have to waterproof a tent, the rest of the fabric is waterproof itself... unless it has a hole in the roof or something ).. if your tent has a rain fly (a waterproof covering over the top) then you shhouldn't have to really worry about the tent itself, just the rain fly.
sorry if you already know some of this stuff, I just wanted to make sure you followed me..

You need to get a can of Scotchgard Waterproofing spray and give your clean (this is important as any stains will be sealed in after this step) tent a coat or two on the outside. They also sell seam sealer which is like a flexible epoxy that covers the seams to prevent leak-through.
Most any sporting-goods store will have both of these products.

The majority of tents these days come already sealed, if it doesnt come sealed its not worth your money... Extra care doesnt hurt and its good to reseal after alot of use....Just follow the instructions and seal along all the seams and stitching on the entire tent... Spray stuff will give it a nice coat too and will help water bead off better... Like rain-x for your tent....
