So whats the deal with some of the other tents? I am interested in the comedy tent and I hear there is a movie tent that we the fans get to pick the movies for. Any past roo folks have any input on that. Do they get very busy and is that movie tent 24 hours?
I think the movie tent is pretty much round the clock. We went there to get out of the sun and catch a little cat nap in the afternoon. They were playing the Festival Express documentary, that was awesome because it was way before it was released. Also took refuge in there when the Mega storm hit during My Morning Jacket. They were playing "Old School" It was pretty awesome, everyone packeded there laughing our butts off until the rain let up. I't as good place to get away from the sun, not the heat!
The movie tent looked cool everytime I walked by it. Lots of people lounging around, enjoying flicks. A great diversion for the 24-hour soul. Never checked out the comedy tent, though. Sonic Village is always pretty cool, and last year we could burn free CDs of artists playing at Roo. Good customized memory.
The comedy tent was great, but you need to try to go towards the beginning of the festival. By Saturday and Sunday, you seriously had to wait forever if you wanted to get in.
I hope they bring back the arcade tent. I know last year they had a tent with some video games but it was nothing like the first two years. The arcade had so many great games all from the 80's and early 90's. It was so much fun if you wandered in after consuming some treats from Shakedown street. Especially since they had the DJ's playing in that tent most of the time.
