also, i read where it's nice to wear shorts under your dresses.. where did you girls get the shorts to wear under your dresses? i run pretty much every day, so i'd like to maybe get some shorts i could use for running too so i can get a lot of use out of them -- something tight but not too show-y!

I found these, new on eBay, for $7 with free shipping. Not sure I'd run in them! But they're perfect for what I wanted, underneath a dress:
Mine weren't wicking and I definitely regretted it. The wicking ones were more expensive, but lesson learned - either look for cheaper options or just pay the extra $$.
I also wore shorts under dresses and skirts the rest of the summer - especially handy when I went to San Francisco and it was super windy!
This seller has a bunch of nice compression/bike shorts on eBay for a reasonable price. Same type I bought, same seller: stores.ebay.com/Mass-Closeouts
Check under "Women's Clothing." Most are $6.99 with free shipping. Wicking.

Ha! I know. I just guessed, based on some running tights I have. If you own regular athletic shorts of any kind, I'd guess that you wear the same in these.
And thanks for the karma, kateroo! Happy to share the eBay love.

and more karma from me! i kept forgetting that i wanted to get some, and these are so cheap!
Thanks, hippienaustin! And I just scrolled waaaaay down on one of the item descriptions and saw a chart for sizes. If you order the men's size (bet the seller has almost identical items in the men's clothes) the chart will tell you what size to order by waist inches. Otherwise, the women's chart is the typical "a medium is size 8-10." But whose 8-10? Size variance in women's clothing irks. But good luck on the bid!

Side note on ebay: I looooved ebay until I wanted to purchase a Tiffanys necklace. It was $99 and said it was coming from Virginia. Well I eventually recieved a package from Japan and in it was 2 bracelets and 2 necklaces all FAKE. Pay pal and Ebay couldn't do anything to get my money back and the member who sold it to me deleted their account.
