true - I forgot about that
If someone wants to meet up with us at Wal-mart - you are more then welcome to camp alongside us - better then taking a chance on BFE
This word also has a underground meaning once you break it down. Let’s take “Bonn” for example and it actually turns into the word “Bone”. We all know gays use this word to describe the action of when they are fecal fisting their Cuban cabana boy at their sex bath house parties. Now let’s look at Roo, “Roo” is short for “Kangaroo”.So put the full true message together and you get“Bone a Kangaroo
is there a catch?? why has no one responded? it sounds too good to be a true to be a companion vehicle! the spots are toooo close!
I think it may be tha some people are hesitent to take up space in Access if they don't need to be there - I know that is why we did not use access last year - even tho I have my hancicap placard - I did not want to take space from anyone that really really needed it - turns out - I really really need it

I have a friend whose coming with me this year who has a hip problem and some trouble walking at times. He has no placard and could likely use the access. If the offer still stands, we'll go down with you. I live in M'boro and usually head down about 6:30-7am Thursday.
I might be able to show you some back roads to reduce the lines and you're welcome to share in all our morning coffee and community meals.
well, i think what i will probably do is wait until we get a little bit closer. if no one really needs it like troo's friend, then we might take you up!

I doubt I will be able to slide meeting up with other people with the people I am caravanning with(One of the girls did it last year and it was a disaster) but I will definitely exchange number so we can all chill together (I don't spend too much time with my group anwho)

This is my 2nd Roo, loved it last year and bought my ticket as soon as they went on sale. Unfortunately, I was a stupid drunk ass last week and broke my ankle really bad, 7 screws a six inch plate and two torn ligaments. I still want to go this year but not sure if I can do it physically. I'm in great shape but I'm not supposed to have weight on it for 6 weeks, which means crutches and wheelchair. Just curious how rough it really is for a crippled man to get around roo??? Would like to hear some experiences, and advice. Thanks

HMMMMMM - it is doable - if you have a wheelchair and a buddy to push you around - I suggest you email Laura at access@bonnaroo.com with any questions you may have - she will get back to you within a day or so and is really great about answering questions.
I would have to say it depends on you tho - if it were me - with a wheelchair I could do it - on crutches - NOPE I had ankle surgery 4 years ago with a bone graft and then broke it again 6 months later and had to have another surgery on it - it was proly the worst year of my life - there is no way I would have attempted Bonnaroo (I don't think - I was willing to attempt Music Midtown in Atlanta and did make it around the Atlanta Zoo tho)

I agree with Meg. No way on crutches.
BTW, hopefully you can get a good wheelchair but just in case, I have couple old manual wheelchairs in my barn I can bring if you need one. (yeah, I know, I seem to have everything) Nothing fancy but it would be useful as a last resort. Hopefully your insurance will pay for a decent one and you won't need it but let me know if you do.
^^^but ya know Troo - I saw severla people on crutches last year - but with plates and screws - that is not a chance I would take - I broke my ankle the second time because of weight bearing when I was not supposed to - so it is not worth the risk at all

Thanks for advice, gonna try and tough it if I can. I have plenty of friends that will be there to help, and I have a high pain tolerance. I figure with that many screws in it less chances of something bad happening. Doctor seemed to be pretty optimistic about it healing, so only time will tell.

make sure you get documentation from your doc and go get a handicapped placard
or like I said before - email Laura at access@bonnaroo.com and see if you can get into access with just documentation from your doctor
Got my tag and got my wheelchair. I'm still very disappointed at the circumstances, but that's what I get for being a dumb ass. I just hope it heal up enough by then so I won't have too much of an issue getting around. At least I won't have to be the pack mule I was last year, hauling everything to camping only after driving 10hrs to get there w/o sleep.
^^^they just posted the new 2008 Access guide on Bonnaroo.com - sounds like they may have moved access camping around a little bit again - says closer to the Centeroo entrance and Pod 4 - so who knows

I think I'm gonna decorate a wheelchair for the festivals this summer. Goin to Roo and Rothbury only 2 wks apart gotta make a festie wheelie. It needs a cupholders, a stash spot, and cool decorations, any ideas??

I like the camp inforoo access style. Did did you notice the access entrance into roo last year? You have to get special bands bands from the access tent that will get you in and for the elevated seating at the venues.
^^^I saw it - but since we were not in access last year could not use it - will prolly do that this year - because the less walking the better it is for my hips and ankle
