I've read quite a few of the threads on this board and they've been quite helpful. This is my 2nd Roo and I'm trying to learn from the mistakes I made last time.
Last year was my first. Me and my roadie "Jones" got good and lit before we went. We set up camp, saw Dave and Trey (along with the moon melting and all those da*n stars that kept trying to tap me on the shoulder and ask the way to Bushy Branch Rd). The show was astounding and I spent the rest of the night traveling the grounds that we all call home for a weekend. "Jones" got attacked by those stars and felt the need to hide from them on the cool and wet sand near What Stage. I can't blame him.
To make a long story short, we didn't follow the "pace yourself" advice. After the "Fear and Loathing" episode on Friday night, I slept most of the day Sat. and caught Ween on Sat. night. We woke up Sun. morning and were too partied out.
We went home.
This year, I'm going solo. Poor ole' Jones has to work. I've got a plan though. I'm going to keep a journal and I hope to put you all in it.
This board has been great for info and I wanna give something back, so I plan to set up a website after Roo' with the journal.
The deal is, I plan to go to the Thurs. night party at 8:00 at the Arch and would love to meet everyone and write the outcome after the festival is over.
I hope this sounds like a good idea........And I hope no one holds the fact that I'm a first time poster against me.
This year's Roo could only be better if Ryan Adams were playin'. I know he is probably what most experts would call an "a_hole" but the cat makes good music.
Hope to see you all in many different life changing paintings this weekend. I want to be the canvas.
I'll be wearing a goofy looking cowboy hat and have a read headed starter beard. See ya at the Arch' at 8
Josh, that sounds great! I won't speak for everyone else but I am positive being a 1st time poster has any bearing what so ever. Anyway, your idea sounds great, I cannot be at the Arch tomorrow night as I will be just getting in line about that time!! But, will make a couple of the 3:00 to 3:30 meetups at the swings. Have a good Roo, can't wait to see the website when your done. Peace
Josh, this will be my first Roo and I have the benefit of going with a true veteran. I look forward to your website after Roo, after all that is what it is all about making good friends and better memories, hope to see you there.
