I just heard Rilo Kiley for the first time, they are pretty good. I was just curious if they are a very big(popular) band, since i hadnt really heard anything about them before?

I just started listening to them when i saw they were going to be at both roo and coachella, so i figured i'd probably like them, and...i did lol. I don't think they are too popular in the states yet. I think they've mainly made their name in Canada. But i could be completely wrong. I just know i hadn't heard of them til early this year and now i've been seeing them pop up everywhere.
You BEST check out M. Ward before them! Jenny Lewis does some backing on his new record, so I'm sure they'll be a little collaboration between the two.
1. Secret Machines - these guys give me the same shivers up my spine early Floyd did in college (without the "help" ) 2. Mars Volta - prog rockers par excellence 3. De La Soul - I never got to see them in the 90s, and their album "3 Feet High and Rising" was a favorite of mine in 1989 4. Herbie Hanc0ck - Nuf said.
And it just so happens these three bands are playing back to back to back on the main stage Saturday. It's going to be a great day! then to top things off Trey plays late night afterwards!
Holy shit I can't believe how good The Word's lineup is!! I didn't even know they existed lol... RR, Luther and the boys from NMA, and JON FREAKING MEDESKI?!?!? AHHHHH
Do not really have a ranking list as of yet, but hope to after Roo '05. Have heard of some of the bands and have some recordings. Will poet my line up after Roo. (will probably be revised in the years to come) Long Live the Roo!!!!!!!!!!
