So how is this going to work? Everyone on stage at once somehow? One set of each band with something special thrown in? A nonstop barrage of rotating musicians for hours on end? Special guests galore? Cover songs/sets? Conspirator?
I know im calling a M.E.M.P.H.I.S opener assuming the Biscuits are on the stage first... I think they're gunna have something special in store for us, this will be my highlight this year for sure...

I think it will be much like the Moe. Umphrey's collaboration in 2003. Moe. began the show and slowly each member of Moe. was replaced by a member of Umphrey's until Umphrey's controlled the stage. As the night progressed the Umphrey's members were one-by-one replaced by the members of Moe. until Moe. was back on stage. I see the late night show as: Umphrey's begins, replaced by Bisco, then Umphrey's replaces Bisco and an encore with all members of both bands.
I think your thinking of 2004 somwherbtween, and it was Umphrey's latenight set and moe. did the switch with them for the setbreak. Umphrey's wasn't at 'roo in 2003. If I had to guess this year I would say either Umphrey's or Biscuits to open and then the bands to do the replacement thing so there is no break until the second band is on stage for their set. I would then guess a braindamaged eggmen set or some sort or collaboration set.

Sorry I was talking about a show at the Orpheum Theater in New Orleans that these two bands put on in may 2003. But i guess it did happen at Roo in 2004 also.

okay, i really have never listened to umphreys, and i saw the "wrapped around chicago" dvd, and i am very interested in hearing some more, what would anyone suggest i check out first?
roo could just be this show and oysterhead an id be happy.. i hope they are latenights on different nights...also i read somwhere (although i have since forgotten where and havent been able to find it again) that medeski, martin and wood might be doin a sunrise brakfast show after umph/disco... that would be sweet.. the article said that they were considering it because mars volta had such a late start and still had a major turnout.. i think that would be about the greatest thing ever.... and also umphreys has like 650 postings at archives.org so thats a good place to hear em
i think they are going to be playing seperately... but who knows? just doesnt make any sense... .i mean bisco will only have one tour together with their new drummer before this show.

Yah and if you listen to shows that Bisco is playing right now i'd say the drummer is good to go already... He'll only get better but i'd say he's right on the ball now...
