Looks like Radiohead was trying to set up 2 shows in Chicago one day after Roo. The place they want to play was nixed, but it even seems more likely that are on their way to Bonnaroo. I mean Tenn to Chicago is not that far of a trek. Here is the article:
Chicago Nixes Radiohead Performance January 9, 2006 04:06 PM - Posted by Jonathan Hey there... been a long time? Sorry for the lack of updates. The holidays are always hectic and we've been off doing less important things.
Not much going on in Radiohead World, although some interesting news is coming from SPIN:
Supervisors of Chicago's brand new, gleaming gem -- a Frank Gehry-designed music pavilion within Millennium Park -- claim that they want to have more popular music performances, but clearly actions speak louder than words: City officials have vetoed Radiohead's request to play the venue on June 19 and 20. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago's Cultural Affairs Department turned down Radiohead's appeal "even though the group would have paid rental fees of $100,000 -- because the Grant Park Symphony Orchestra is scheduled to hold a rehearsal June 20."
"Free public programming is part of the venue's mission," a spokesperson for the Cultural Affairs Department said. "We have to support organizations such as the Grant Park Orchestra, but we're open to other events if there are availabilities at other times" -- like a private corporate event for Toyota that cost $800,000 and closed the park to the public last summer. According to the Sun-Times, Radiohead still hopes to return to Chicago this summer regardless of whether or not they can play at Millennium.
In addition to Chicago, Radiohead plan to play in many other cities across the United States this Summer. Stay tuned...
Radiohead headlining on Sat.? I mean, they would have to close out the ROO, I would think. Who's gonna top Radiohead? They have been the main headliner at every festival, that I know of, in recent memory. Unless it's Radiohead on Sat., Pearl Jam on Sun.(alarm clock rings, and I realize I was dreaming). I'd be in shock and awe if Radiohead plays, and kinda pissed, cause I don't think I can go this year either. I'm joining Americorps, and I'll be spending six months in the great northwest, hopefully starting in May. I'll keep my fingers crossed for the rest of ya though.
I'm not a fan of Radiohead at all... might end up backing out of Roo this year (after 3 consecutive years of attending) if the lineup isn't appealing to us. It would suck if it came to that, but I'm all for the Roo folks mixing up the music each year and bringing in bands that many other people enjoy. It's all good!
Product Shop NYC (aka The Best Blog In The World) can exclusively reveal the three big headliners for this year's Bonnaroo Festival. The hippie alternative to Coachella has snagged such amazing acts this year that it looks like I'll be vacationing in Tennessee from June 16th to 18th.
The three headliners of Bonnaroo are Radiohead, Tom Petty, and Beck!!!
Béla Fleck and The Flecktones and Nickel Creek are also confirmed for this year's Bonnaroo, and groups like Moe., Trey Anastasio, and the String Cheese Incident are also heavily rumored. Now I can look past all that foul smelling patchouli shit for Radiohead, Tom Petty, and Beck. Not to mention that Dinosour Jr, Queens of the Stone Age, the Flaming Lips, and the Arcade Fire have also been approached about playing this year.

Sa-weet ... talk about shaking it up. Can't wait to hear a confirmed line-up; this year's gonna rock. And with fewer of us than two years ago, we'll have room to move again. Goodbye state fair vibe...

I'd like to see Radiohead as the Saturday, but with a jam band regular to open on Friday. Petty on Sunday would be a nice upbeat and familar close, but I hope he plays to the spirit of the weekend and skips the greatest hits set for some obscurities and covers.
Beck is not a headliner. He's afternoon or b-stage. Anything more would be criminal.

The wikipedia page has some new additions to their rumors...Oysterhead and Fiona Apple caught my attention. Anyone have info on that (or others)? I know theres been some talk of a new Oysterhead cd.
I'm just going to throw every crazy rumor I've found so far in to this post for everyone to speculate on. Just to be clear, I have absolutely no reason to think that any of this is in anyway accurate or grounded in any solid information. It could very well all be random speculation. Just something to think about while we wait a week for the official deal.
Here's the Wikipedia rumored lineup for anyone who hasn't checked it out (as of Wed. night):
The rumored lineup includes Ween, Radiohead,The Dead, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Beck, Particle, Dinosaur Jr, My Morning Jacket, Queens of the Stone Age, The Arcade Fire, moe., String Cheese Incident, Blue Merle, and the North Mississippi Allstars, Bright Eyes, Oysterhead, Matisyahu, Common, Disco Biscuits (late night), Umphrey's McGee, Josh Hill Band, Sufjan Stevens, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Wilco, Shooter Jennings, Ben Harper, Gomez, Medeski, Martin and Wood, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Fiona Apple, Willie Nelson, Neko Case, Devendra Banhart, and Jenny Lewis with the Watson Twins.
It seems obvious to me that the list as a whole is too good to be true (I so hope I'm wrong), but it is intriguing. It could easily just be someone's wish list (like mine) but some of it seems too random to be completely cooked up. It seemed diverse and random enough to possibly be true to me earlier today, but Oysterhead and Fiona strikes me more as "too good to be true".
While I'm throwing out wild, completely unsubstantiated rumors, here are some bands "The Rumor Mill" posted on the jambands.com message board (again, these seem just random enough to maybe, hopefully have a grain of truth in them):
"blueground undergrass blue merle mississippi mafia (w/ duwayne burnside) sam bush chicago afrobeat project al di meola papa grows funk topaz robert walter's super heavy organ yo mama's big fat booty band"
and another post: "Bela Fleck and The Flecktones and Nickel Creek are also confirmed for this year's Bonnaroo, and groups like Moe., Trey Anastasio, and the String Cheese Incident are also heavily rumored. Dinosour Jr, Queens of the Stone Age, the Flaming Lips, and the Arcade Fire have also been approached about playing this year."
Here's my question, what is the source of these "rumors" and is it reliable. I for one don't call wikipedia a reliable source because anyone can go in and edit it.

Wikipedia is probably the least credible source for rumors...unless the people posting them somehow had inside info. Alot of the same names are popping up in other places, but did they all originally come from Wiki?
We'll have to wait til Wednesday for the real news...but its fun to speculate.

The source of the rumors I posted is Wikipedia and other message boards. In other words, totally and completely unreliable. They are "rumors" in the truest sense (meaning they are not necesarily true at all.

I'm sorry but doesn't anyone want to see Panic back. I know they headlined two nights last year, but they are an awesome band with some of the most amazing lave shows. They helped make Bonnaroo what it is. I would love to see them come again. Not necessaily headline but just be there.
i heard that string cheese will be there this year for anyone who hasn't seen them its a must they are one of the most ecclectic non mainstream bands ever and in my opinion they represent what bonnaroo is all about don't give in to corporate labels
