Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
With all of these updates of artists being added, I can't see how the next announcement wont consist of at least 10 artists... just wanted to say wutup also... can't wait for the 'roo ;D
I think the most deceiving thing when you look at the bands on the list is that 10-12 are playing on Thursday, so I don't think you're supposed to count there persay for the other 3 days. Right now we have 83 acts( not including the circus and the jazz tent) then minus 10 off of that is 73..so in a way they haven't reached 80 yet. At least thats what I think.
I actually think we could be in for no artist adds for the main stages and tents or a very small one. My assumption is that when they said "80+ acts", they were referring to the acts they would announce (including the Thursday acts). If you assume the Preservation Hall/Circus tent is going to be the fourth tent (as opposed to the fifth tent I guess), then that leaves two stages and three tents to fill up each day. The way that the schedule has gone traditionally, that would mean 5 stages x 4 shows per day=20 shows a day not including late night. Last year I think there were a total of twelve acts playing late night, so I'll just use that number as a reference. So we have 83 so far, and we should expect 60 daytime shows Fri-Sun, 12 on Thursday, and 12 total late night=84 acts. On that basis I'm just not expecting much.
Of course any number of variables could change the math (maybe there will be five tents, maybe there will be 20 acts late night, maybe the scheduling will be radically different than years past), but it seems like what you would expect if they keep doing things the way they have the last four years.
I would also point out that the growing list of acts LIGuy has listed in the cafe/side stage thread are not typically "official announcements".
EDIT: ok, so they "officially announced" them at the precise moment I posted that
The Cafe stage announcement is a huge announcement (Hot Buttered Rum?!) and seems like far more established acts then year's past. I think its quite possible that we are done (or very nearly done) with artist adds at this point, though.
Are you guys expecting an announcement today (it being thursday and that is the typical day)? It would be nice to get another big name for the indie AND the jam band crowd, and then maybe a couple of djs, because it seems strange that Sasha is the only dj.
Its a lot of bands, but barely anything many people will bother with. If you truly have time to chill out and visit a cafe tent, its nice to see a small time artist and kick back. However, I don't see myself having that time this year. For me, this announcement just means that we probably won't see a round 6, sadly . . .
I think there will be a Round 6 for sure. This is essentially the same kind/size list they had last year but didn't outright announce. I think this just means they have their ducks in a row earlier and they are using this to further tease out our last main additions.
I still think (hope) we'll see Damien Rice and Fiona Apple on the next announcement as their schedules are still empty for the weekend. Who else are we missing?

What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.

one more announcement for sure...five bands.....maybe only four.....hell i dont know, maybe just one....who knows......they will anounce another round though, superfly is very smart....
I just want to see one more major jam band. I think that um/db will be the most crowded event of all, i want to sprawl out and just take in some wandering chords to go with my visuals without the hyper mahem that will be the latenite shows.

are you talking like String Cheese Incident Major or The Dead (pray) Major or... what do you consider major? I think since we already have Phil Lesh and Friends I can't really see us having The Dead...but I sure as well wouldnt mind having some Ratdog action.
In celebration of this big pink floyd year, I think we should see THE MACHINE; the worlds greatest floyd tribute band....that would be nice

ummm, shine on, phil and friends are closing the weekend....you might see some members of the dead share the stage but no on another set. to whoever mentioned david byrne.....that would be soooo awesome....hes the man. One major jamband or something like it would finish it off....
I remember wsp didn't get added till about this time last year maybe later even.

I'm hoping for The Crystal Method to be added. They are going to be here in Dayton, OH a week before Bonnaroo and the next date after that isn't until July.
