I have a STRONG feeling Oysterhead is not late night Friday. That would create massive conflicts for just about everyone. I think it's more likely that Oysterhead will play mid-afternoon in the Wilco spot from '04 on main stage, and then late night will by Umph/Disco, MMJ, and Hip Hop (Lyrics Born, Blackalicious, Common?). That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

I think it would definitely cause conflicts, attonaroo, especially w/ Umph/Bisco. BUT that has never stopped 'Roo before -- late night is almost always conflicting. This year it should be the LEAST conflicting b/c of the diversity of the artists.
That said, I'm still banking on a late night O-Head set. They won't play as long as Umph/Bisco, so plenty of people will stream to that tent after O-Head is thru (a la Trey and KDTU last year).
They make major conflicts on purpose. They have to do that to keep a large percentage of the festival from all swarming one tent/stage and then having the others be empty.

"And we're working out some songs like that that we're trying to figure out...I don't - there's definitely a lot we've got in store but nothing that I'm going to promise."
I pretty much figure that Bright Eyes will be one of their guests, any ideas on who else could be collaborating with them?
What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.
Yeah, Conor Oberst will guest I'm sure -- plus Mike Mogis (prouducer extraordinaire and band member of Bright Eyes), maybe M. Ward if they're going to pull together the "Monsters of Folk" lineup again. Other than that, your guess is as good as mine! They really haven't collaborated extensively with folks in the past, so it should be a wild night! Let's hope I can keep my sh*t together for this one.
And that means MMJ crew possibly jumping in on Bobby's set. Note that he is listed as Bobby Bare Jr. - not as Bare Jr. or with his Starvation League band. I'll float this completely hopeful and unfounded rumor: MMJ as Bare's backing band?

God, talk about a tough decision if it's MMJ vs. Bisco McGee. Right now, I'd have to lean toward MMJ, and I'm sure that decision will change every single day leading up to Roo.
awesome news. obviously I'm going to be bouncing like crazy friday night. IT's looking to be a LOOOONG night, filled with many festivites and favors. keep those dancin feet sharp.

I have not even thought about that. That would be a nightmare...i would have a mental breakdown.
shineonjmb, you really will be doing yourself a service to get to know MMJ. I saw them for the first time in the pouring rain and thunder 2003 ROO(who else was there? you know what I'm talking about) blew me away. Since then I have seen them here in Knoxville twice and aslo at Roo. Late Night with them will be on fire!

MMJ vs Um/Bisco seems kind of likely assuming MMJ is definately Friday... Bisco will be longer though so you might be able to catch the second half....

It said in the aricale that MMJ is looking to play 4 hours..so kinda looks they will start and get over at the same time unless they stagger the sets.
