Just wondering if there where any fans out there that knew or listend 2 Dungen and what they sound like, or what one would expect from a live performance?

Hmm....they definitely have some folkish qualities, but i would say they' re more of the retroish-psychedelic rock variety, but i have only heard Ta Det Lugnt.....
Get it. It's good. They are a band I probably wouldn't have picked up, except that they're playing The Roo. Now they're on my, definately will not miss, list.

Same here. They're actually playing a tiny venue here in Philly the Monday before Roo, I'm thinking of checking them out there. It'll be cool to see them in a small intimate setting, then a few days later with thousands of people at Bonnaroo.

These guys are awesome. Dungen (dun-yoon) translates to "The Groove". Te Det Lungt is a great album. I also recommend that you get a copy of Stadsvandringar. That album's title track and exspecially the reprise "Stadsvandringar Del 2" is one catchy sound. Gustav, the lead singer, guitarist, flutists wrote and played ALL instruments on Ta Det Lugnt. Thats pretty impressive if you listen to that album. Stadsvandringar was written and recored in a studio with the actual band lineup as it is today.
I also recommend 1999-2001. This album is a remix of the early Dungen stuff that Gustav put together instead of just re-issuing the albums. Its 3 songs with some chapters. 45 mins of beautiful music. An interesting "remix".
Gustav is also learning to be a fiddle master from Sweden's leading fiddle expert. He has been an apprentice for I think 2 years. He is a folk musician. The Ta Det Lugnt album is very folky but it's Swedish folk music so it will sound different from US folk. Unclecupcake is not wrong as the album is very retro-psych sounding. These 2 types of music are more closely related then one would imagine.
You can watch a really sweet video for "Festival" at the Kemado site.
