Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Originally the idea behind the late night superjam was to have Trey, Claypool and Questlove doing "Band Of Gypsies." It has yet to be seen whether or not this idea will pan out. It has not been confirmed, though the info did come from the same guy who I told you rumored the beck, moe. and oysterhead timeslots (see "schedulogy" thread), which did pan out. Rumor has it Trey might have bailed and Ben Harper may be filing his role as Jimi. Though with Tony Hall and Raymond Weber flying back to Bonnaroo after their gig in St. Louis on Saturday, it's not a stretch of imagination to think Trey will be on that same plane for a late night gig as well.
I guess we'll see in less than a month. The one thing I do know is that this is the first late night Superjam, and it's a timeslot that is WELL overdue.

Any form of this would take Roo to another level for me, which I basically didn't think was possible. I have been really skeptical of a lot of predicitions, but I do think there is a space for something huge in that late-night superjam spot, something bigger than your average superjam.
Ideally for me, a "Band of Gypsies" set would have ?uestlove, Ben Harper, a more "down-to-earth" bass player like Pino Palladino, and maybe some guest solos from Trey. Yeah, that would work.

Really pumped to see who will be in this superjam. I really was looking forward to seeing Trey late night. Hopefully he will play after his show in St. Louis. All I know is its three weeks away and its about time. I am ready to rock
i am really worried abot the superjam. i really wanna see dr john night tripper show as it is 1 time thing most likely. and i want to see the rest of the jazz latenight also. but the potential for that superjam is out of control. wasnt the superjam like a sunday afternoon hour show the past years??? man roo is tough.
y athe super jam is not any 1 group. its a bunch of people from the fest getting togetr to jam. its super. thus the name. it used to be an insignifigant hour and a half sunday afternoon thing. apparantly they are makin a bigger deal out of it this year with the latenight spot. i know im excited about it althoguh i will be at dr john most likely

Ok so its definitely not one group, common knowledge by now I hope. But with it being 4 hours long as opposed to the shorter time slot in the past, there will probably be a lot of musicians coming in and out. Maybe a lot of sunday's bands will show up late saturday night and join in on the second half of superjam

Yeah I knew it wasn't one specific group, but i'm hoping that there is a lot of switching of musicians. I couldn't imagine that it wont be, considering four hours of straight super jamming would be very odd for just one group of people
said it before on other threads but since we're dreaming about superjam components, i'll toss out my hopes for a johnny greenwood appearance (perhaps like the gop, if i say it enough, it will become reality)
that said, i do see thurston moore as an exciting and more likely addition.

Ben instead of Trey?!!?! Ben couldn't handle the axe if they were playing the whole band of gypsies. I like ben but really...when was the last time he riffed your mind out with the electric? Trey would fill the spot much better. They should give victor wooten bass duties
so i havent followed roo in the past like i am this year.... thanx to inforoo. is there leaks about superjam. have they been accurate in the past? or is it just a show up and see what ya get kinda thing. seems like they could atleast drop some names for us

Ben Instead of Tery? Are you serious? You have to be KIDDING ME! That is the dumbbest thing I've EVER heard. Ben Harper is an amature compared to Trey. Dont get me wrong, I'm not saying Trey is on the level of Jimi but hes a LOT closer than Ben Harper.
i would say the trey ben thing is a toss up. id actually rather see ben harper because hes not already at roo. if it was a straight up jam challenge id take trey hands down. but for this show at this roo id take ben harper just so hed be there
