On a seperate note then all this schedule stuff:
Have any of you heard the new Claypool CD yet? I know its not out yet, but there are some copies floating around. I've listened to it a few times, its pretty rockin. Just wondering what everyone else thinks?

I'm a HUGE Claypool fan - been seeing him since he was in Blind Illusion. So I jumped at the chance to get an early copy of Whales and Woe. Been listening to it for a few days now - I like it, but it's no Purple Onion. My favs thus far are Rumble of the Diesel, Iowan Gal & Off-White Guilt. Otherwise none of the tunes really seem to stick out.
I'm sure given time it'll grow on me - most of his stuff does. I can't wait to hear it live.
Anybody else in the Chicago-area checking out the show the Wed before the 'roo at the Vic???

Can't remember most of the song titles off the top of my head, but Iowan Gal was one of my favorites. I have gotten into Les fairly recently so i haven't been able to catch him live yet. Super excited to see O'head, but i have huge conflictions with Les' solo band. I was hoping i could catch him on his tour, but i'll be out of the country when he's in the new england area. I defiantely dont think its any Purple Onion, so I hope he plays a good amount of that.

The fancy band shows I saw last year were just plain cool. He played a pretty good mix of stuff off the Purple Onion, Highball with the Devil and even a little Sausage thrown in for good measure. In case you don't know the band has an odd line-up - no guitar player, drummer, percussion, Les, Skerik on the sax & Gabby on the Sitar (don't know if she'll be around for the 'roo show or not). Very fat sound and some crazy jamming. He'll put on a hell of a show for us - that I'll guarantee.

I'm not in Chicago but I will see Claypool on the 1st in SF. I figured I would pick up the CD at the show. I personally love all of Claypool's work, I'm a big fan of Primus and all his side projects so it will be really cool being able to see Claypool in two consecutive days in different bands
