I wanna see Bright Eyes who plays til 5:30 and Nickel Creek who starts at 6. What are the odds of getting from Bright Eyes to NC and getting a good spot? How big is That Tent?
The 2nd stage is not too far from "That Tent", but they are spaced off just enough where the sounds do drown out each other..at least most of the times anyways
they're just the right distance away from eachother... far enough apart to be able to listen without hearing the other tents and stages, but close enough to hop around and browse each tent.
i'm thinking of the pep rally'z back when i was in highschool... soph-seniors sat on the big side of the gym... there were about 1000 kids... i dont see 5X that many people in one tent...think of a venue like the asheville civic center which holds about 1500 people... you think that 3x that many people can fit in one tent???
Wow, I really thought it would have been standing, although I definitely prefer seated. Just makes it a bit more relaxing with the AC and all.
What do they do with the seats when they have the masquerade ball? I thought I read somebody mention that the masquerade ball takes place in the comedy tent.
The tents are just the right size! The only problem I have ever had with the tent set-up was at Roo II when Mike & Leo were playing opposite The Roots and on the other side was a disco/arcade tent. Both were just blaring and as you can imagine Mike & Leo were not. Other than that the tents are fantastic.
I can remember at Roo III we were standing in a spot where we could hear all stages at once. It was great we could hear Praxis, Umphree's, and Vida Blue. Then all of a sudden we heard Metallica and low and behold there was MOE.

"The tents are just the right size!"
...except for when you are stuck outside at a late night show like I was for Moe. in 02'... I couldn't hear or see shit and I ended up falling asleep to what was voted the show of the year by the jammys... I've listened to the tapes too and it was something I definitely would not have slept through had I been inside.
This year I see Umph's/Bisco being that big as well with people having to be stuck outside... that's the only late nighter i think that would come close to filling up entirely though... maybe MMJ as well
